• Best Known for the Fanservice: The episode is remembered entirely as that episode where Xander dons a speedo to go undercover on the swim team. The Fanservice shot of him first in it is even in the opening credits for the third and fourth seasons.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: While interrogating Jonathan, Willow talks about fantasies. Jonathan will create his own fantasy in "Superstar".
• Retroactive Recognition: Wentworth Miller is Gage!
• Values Resonance: Buffy is nearly sexually assaulted by a member of the swim team, but Snyder doesn't punish the boy and she's blamed for leading him on, with the boy in question defending himself by pointing out the way she dresses. With sexual assault on college campuses becoming more prominent, this feels disturbingly more relevant (especially in the wake of the Brock Turner case).
