  • Joe's trigger event was preceded by usage of medication that had negative side-effects. As such, it tells readers to use medication safely, as well as the fact that that and other outside factors can affect who you are.
  • An accidental theme of the story is how much harm can be caused without actual malice.
• Arc Fatigue:
  • After the big fight against the entire ABB, some fans have said that they were getting tired of Joe fighting this one gang and want him to move on to other opponents.
  • The build-up to the meeting at Somer's Rock was decried by some fans as taking too long.
• Base-Breaking Character: Fans of the story either love what happened to March after the ABB's final gambit, or hate that she didn't die already.
• Broken Base:
  • Opinions are divided on whether or not Cauldron would be a danger to Joe if they were aware of how powerful he really was.
  • Fans are split on whether or not how the ABB was taken down is cathartic or disappointing.
  • Fans argue whether or not Bonesaw should be redeemed.
  • Fans are divided on whether or not waiting for the S9 to arrive at the Bay before making a move on them is a good idea on Joe's part.
