• Genius Bonus: Walt hesitates for a moment in class while coming up with an example of an organic compound with chirality. The chemists watching will realize he probably thought of meth, as R/levomethamphetamine is a legal, less potent isomer used in nasal decongestants. Its chiral counterpart, S-methamphetamine, is the crystal he's currently selling with Jesse - a little too much to use as a teaching aid.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Skyler warning Jesse to stay away from Walt is a comedic scene, though rewatching the series, her telling him to stay away or else he'll be "one sorry individual" is a lot less funny considering most of Jesse's pains are a direct result of Walt's actions.
• Squick: Emilio's disintegrated corpse falling through the floor.
• Unintentional Period Piece:
  • Jesse's social media site is shown to be a Bland-Name Product version of MySpace, with the obnoxious music and eye-bleeding graphics you'd expect from such a page. When the episode was produced, MySpace's active user numbers were already well into terminal decline as people migrated from the site to Facebook, and admittedly it's not at all beyond the realms of possibility that a stoner like Jesse wouldn't be in any hurry to move to a more popular site, but it does instantly date the episode to the late 2000s.
  • When Skyler confronts Jesse, she threatens to bust him for supposedly selling weed to her husband. Recreational marijuana was legalized in New Mexico on June 29, 2021. Just in general, smoking pot isn't as frowned upon now as it was when the episode was first released.
