• Funny Moments:
  • Apo requests for Acho to fill in a vocabulary gap, complete with font contrast for Painting the Medium effects.
    Apparently [Scott] is from people who are known here and that gives him an advantage. I think there is a word for this. I don't know the word, but I think Acho does. If you do put it here: nepotism
  • The author's end notes features a bonus scene of Acho being thoroughly squicked out while reading about Apo's not-quite-wholesome crush on Scott. As in, their older brother. What makes this even funnier is that given the contrast between Apo's edited and unedited spelling showcased in a previous letter, it's very likely that Acho had to edit the spelling for that section as well.
• Harsher in Hindsight: In the canon finale, Apo ends up finding that Red was Killed Offscreen after not seeing him for the latter half of the series. This fic was posted on September 28th, 2023, before Red's last canonical appearance alive during the Rescue Mission.
• Heartwarming Moments:
  • Apo trying to keep secret that he found a clam that reminded him of Red.
  • Red being surprised and delighted by Apo using a ":(" emoticon, saying he didn't know it was possible to draw a face in a letter.
  • For more implicit heartwarming, the fact that Acho never actively tries to interfere with the letters, respecting a "don't edit" request for a particular sentence and from what we can tell, not bowdlerising the letters despite being understandably appalled by some of the contents discussed.
