  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • A mass murder of hundreds of people using an automatic weapon (and plenty of ammunition) was unthinkable in the 1870s, even if by a man so crazed and freaked out by his own hatred and racism that he would resort to such measures. (Indeed, the look of fright on Hoss' face as he realizes who Ganns really is and his true motives, and the weapon he plans to use to wreak his destruction.) Fast forward 125-150 years or so, and we have mass killings by people who have used automatic weapons as their method of death, and racism as their motive.
    • On an equally sad note, Steve Ihnat (the actor that played Ganz) died May 12, 1972 ... one day before Dan Blocker (Hoss) passes after complications from surgery. Both Ihbat and Blocker shared several scenes together.
