• Funny Moments:
  • When Ryan's first introduced on his skateboard, he gets distracted by Tess diving, hits the edge of the pool and gets flipped in. Brad also dives in to save him—as he incessantly insists that he's fine.
  • While Emily and the girls' friends are laughing at Ryan, Tess comes back and she attempts to take the high road, but succumbs and also laughs while Ryan is clearly not amused.
  Tess: Hey! How would you like it if someone laughed at you 'cause you fell in the water?
  (a brief moment later, they start laughing again and Tess starts to join)
  Tess: Although…it was sort of funny.
  Ryan: Yeah…hilarious.
  • Ryan then takes his shirt off and dramatically climbs to the high dive—something Tess hasn't even done yet—only to then do a cannonball instead.
  Ryan: BONSAI!
  • The reveal to the girls that Ryan is Brooke's son. Even with it not being that surprising, the circumstances though with their jaws dropping when Ryan—still dripping wet from the water they just dumped on him a little while ago—shows up is still priceless.
• Heartwarming Moments:
  • While he did it "because [he's] not a rat", Ryan doesn't get the girls in trouble with Sam and Brooke, claiming he got wet because he "fell off [his] skateboard".
  • Emily and Tess bonding with Brooke, especially since it shows that they're not just happy their dad found someone new, she's someone they really like too.
  • Same with Sam briefly sitting down with Ryan to see how he's doing being a nice bonding moment, while also going with how when the two met before, Ryan legit likes him too.
  • Ryan gives Emily her spot back on the diving team by claiming to Brad that he got a new tattoo, with both her and Tess later discovering that he faked it just for the occasion.
  • After Ryan and the girls are able to clarify the circumstances that Nigel tricked the girls into manipulating, Brooke goes to the billboard to cross out the ad for Sam; draw glasses on his picture and writes that he's now taken. Sam sees the news about it and when the girls assure him it wasn't them, he quickly figures it out. He then leaves to go see Brooke, only to discover she's right outside waiting for him.
• Retroactive Recognition: Troian Bellisario was one of the twins' pool friends before becoming a pretty little liar.
