  • Uncertain Audience: Part of the film's problem is that it can't seem to decide whether it wants to be a feminist fantasy and parable, or a pure exploitation flick.
    • The protagonists are all strong women trying to make a life for themselves in a setting that was virtually a No Woman's Land. They're all capable, good with a gun and a horse, and have agency of their own.
    • However the film practically revels in the fact that all four actresses are gorgeous women, with plenty of Fanservice, while the tough-as-nails gun-toting swagger wouldn't be out of place in the exploitation films of the 70s. Considering the director made a number of movies for Roger Corman in the '70s....
