• Ending Fatigue: The series suffers from this really badly. Kamsha's other series, Gleams of Aeterna, does, too.
• The Woobie: The series has a share of woobies, with perhaps the most notable being Erasti Cerna, whose woobieness is lampshaded by Gerika, deconstructed, and reconstructed in Blood of Sunset: Erasti was betrayed by his Best Friend, has had his hands chopped off and been left for dead, discovered the impending end of the world, was betrayed again by the woman he loved, then learned that she had died a thousand years ago while he was locked out of the normal time stream. Gerika first treats him with understanding, then begins to despise his wallowing in self-pity, before giving him a What the Hell, Hero? speech, which finally snaps him out of it and transforms him into an Stoic Woobie.
