- Crosses the Line Twice: The Chair of Entertainment's predicament. Saying that "she's been in bed all week with the doctor" is funny, but forgettable. Scolding the audience for laughing—"She's having a horrible time!"—makes it hilarious.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Her summary of the requirements to become a star opera singernote was echoed, somewhat less cynically, by the discussion of "star quality" in Maskeradenote . (To be fair to Christine, the last thing anyone would ever accuse her of is being a "backstabbing bitch.")
- Values Dissonance: Noting that you don't have to be a genius to be an opera star, "so long as you're not retarded," comes across a little differently now than it did in the 1980s.
