• Fridge Logic: Sending Gunn to fight Brucker's vampires all by himself, while Illyria's only task is to take out Izzerial and his dinner-mates.
  • In defence of all concerned, it is not specified how powerful Izzerial and his dining partners are on the demon hierarchy, whereas Gunn has great experience in dealing with vampires from long before he started working with Angel.
• Special Effects Failure: The last scene was similar to the end of Mortal Kombat: The Movie, where the sky cracks open and legions of warriors and demons appear; this demonstrates, as we find out in the comic book, that LA has been pulled into Hell. As shot it's an alley set, with rain, a bunch of stuntmen in rubber suits lurching around in the shadows, and a CGI baby dragon.
• Tear Dryer: Wesley's death is one of the most heart-breaking scenes in either show. Thankfully, it's followed by Illyria killing Cyvus Vail by punching him through the face.
