• Creator Backlash: Christian Kane was unhappy with how Lindsey ended up, feeling it was too sudden. Although he attributes that to not expecting the series to be cancelled.
• Enforced Method Acting: The last scenes to be shot were Wesley's death, and the ending scene in the alleyway - all so the cast would be suitably emotional by that time.
• Hey, It's That Place!: The ending happens in the same alleyway where Angel fought Faith in "Five By Five".
• Killed by Request: Alexis Denisof was asked what he would like them to do with Wesley, so he suggested he be killed off. Word of God is that Wesley would have lived had the show continued.
• Real Life Writes the Plot: Downplayed, but all of Lindsey's scenes were written and shot a month before the episode officially entered production (due to Christian Kane having a scheduling conflict). This likely accounts for Lindsey only having 4 scenes and limited on-on-one interactions (with Angel, Eve, and Lorne respectively).
• Trolling Creator: Joss Whedon jokingly discussed the final battle in SFX Magazine:
  Gunn is dead. Illyria keeps fighting. Angel loses an arm. Spike gets Shanshu. And Xander loses another eye, which is funny, because he isn’t even there.
• What Could Have Been: Sarah Michelle Gellar offered to make a guest appearance, but was turned down due to the producers not wanting Buffy to overshadow the rest of the cast.
