• Alternative Character Interpretation: Does Peter Pumpkin symbolize a malevolent supernatural creature, or Thomas's own darker side?
• Fridge Brilliance: In the Halloween Episode, while Andy and Melody are searching for Claus and Margaret so they can leave the haunted house, Melody first calls "Mom!" before correcting herself to Margaret. While it may seem like an odd slip of the tongue on Melody's part, it makes more sense out-of-universe, considering that the souls inside Melody and Margaret (Isabella and Kamryn) are related. So of course she'd ask that first, since she's with her family anyway, even if her vessel doesn't exactly know it.
• Ensemble Dark Horse: The real meat of the story lies not in the game itself, but the ghosts that are within it. That hasn't stopped people from being quite invested in the various grievances Andy suffers at the hands of his "friends".
• Tear Jerker: After unlocking Felix's secret, the game will glitch, and at the bottom of the screen, text will appear, saying, "i can't breathe". Remember that this is most likely Louis's ghost manifesting, and that Louis died by drowning.
• The Woobie:
  • Whatever the true nature of the thing plaguing him, Thomas is at heart a tormented soul who really wants to be with his family again. His reaction when he realizes what he did to Arthur is especially sad.
  • Isabella's Trauma Conga Line includes losing her brother in a freak accident where she also nearly died, being blamed for it by her father, and then later being murdered because she witnessed the murder of someone else.
  • Arthur being killed for no reason, and bursting into Tears of Fear in his final moments.
