• Narm:
  • The random jungle noises that can be heard during one of Bill's nightmares.
  • The dollhouse terrorizing Dana whenever she and Todd get close coupled with it making Claire insatiably horny for Todd causes it to come off as some kind of Shipper on Deck.
  • Jimmy's father starts out creepy and intimidating, but becomes more and more hammy with every scene, as if the actor is trying his best to be a discount Freddy Krueger.
• Special Effects Failure:
  • Much like Jodie, the giant mouse's eyes are represented by a pair of obvious LEDs.
  • The animate doll that telekinetically attacks Tobias and Marla is obviously being puppeteered through a hole cut in the middle of the table.
• Squick:
  • The wasp burrowing its way into Todd's ear, as well as its bloody removal.
  • Dana's gooey, freshly-burnt head.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Reviewers like Ain't It Cool News and Horror Movie a Day found that the whole "whatever happens in the dollhouse also affects the real house" thing was the most inventive and interesting aspect of the film, and that it was a shame that not much was done with it outside of the infamous Rodents of Unusual Size scene.
