• Harsher in Hindsight:
  • In the Season 3 finale, when Terri admits that she originally broke up with Mitch because she was paranoid about him turning out like her father, who had abused her mother for years. Mitch is quietly furious, asking how she could think he'd ever raise a hand to her. In Season 6, after their Relationship Upgrade, Mitch does hit her while drunk, albeit as a result of the brain tumour that would kill him later that season.
  • Dan and Erica's wedding, both for in-universe reasons - Erica would go missing a matter of weeks later, turning up murdered toward the end of the year - and out-of-universe, as Dan's actor Mark Priestley took his own life the day after the episode aired, with his last produced episode coinciding with the resolution to Erica's disappearance, which had to be rewritten to write both of them out.
• Values Dissonance: Even taking into account Mitch and Terri's past relationship and Mitch's understandable bitterness about not knowing why she ended it, some of his comments to her in season 2 are pretty uncomfortable today, bordering on sexual harassment, and would likely get him fired quickly.
