YMMV / Alfie (2010)

• Base-Breaking Character: Alfie herself. Either she’s a sympathetic, albeit flawed and naive, individual that’s trying to grow as a person, or she’s a manipulative piece of shit that deserves whatever she’s getting.
• Broken Base: The Cillian/Nadia backstory is divided into three camps:
  • Those who think Cillian is to blame for his Oblivious to Hints about Nadia's growing want for casual sex.
  • Those who think Nadia is to blame for not making her intentions clear, this camp has notable fury that Nadia decided to drop the bombshell with a poetry book instead of talking to Cillian.
  • And the final camp being that both of them were idiots who handled their relationship problems in the worst possible way, with neither being at any real fault, just being young and dumb.
• Ensemble Dark Horse: Alfie's mother Vera has proven to be quite popular with the fans, some even commenting that they prefer her subplot over the main story involving her daughter. This is no less helped by her character development, her eventual relationship with Cillian and, of course, for being pretty easy on the eyes.
• Fan Nickname: “Worst Girl” for Alfie, due to her repeated strings of terrible actions in the caravan. Granted, it’s a title that can be passed around to other female characters as well, depending on how sympathetic Alfie is at the moment.
• Strangled by the Red String: Alfie/Ozge comes more or less out of nowhere, and is nearly immediately ruined by Alfie being Alfie.
