  • Anti-Climax Boss - Icons of Sin, even with the option to "Enhance" them turned on, which just multiplies their base HP by 15-25x, and lets their spawn-cube spitter spit multiple cubes at once. If you know the strategy to damage them on the map, it's even easier to do so with various attacks, such as the Lightning spells (or one of the attacks of the Diabloist's Soul), which climb up/down elevations, and will fly into the exposed brains and usually inflicting much more overall damage than a proper rocket. If you manage to send any Raging Spirits successfully into the brain spots, they generally go to town on the IoS as well.
  • Demonic Spiders - Hell Clerics are an unique enemy type that resembles the Cleric from Hexen, except obviously evil. They can replace multiple types of base monster types [i.e Zombiemen, Shotgun Guys, Chaingun Guys, Imps, Pinky Demons, and even occasionally Revenants] randomly, and they are extremely fast on the draw, and move erratically in a similar manner to the class-minibosses in Hexen except even more often.
  • Goddamned Bats - Death Incarnates (essentially Revenants forcibly possessed by Hades Spheres and corrupted further by the process) are this, especially moreso when playing as Deggaris or Illucia, because of their constant ability to get back up after being "killed" most times. To permenantly down a Death Incarnate (outside of a method such as fatally freezing them solid), they must be "overkilled", or have their HP lowered to under -100% of their maximum. They will erupt and release the Hades Sphere possessing them to attack the player, but the Incarnate will stay down [unless resurrected by an Archvile or Diabloist]. Deggaris and Illucia lack a lot of good ways to overkill Death Incarnates, while Flora's Sceptre of Empyrea (her default melee weapon) is a weapon they are actually obscenely weak against, and will overkill them with a casual hit over 85% of the time. Flora's Diaris Longbow with it's Holy-elemental arrows are also very capable of overkilling them, due to being obscenely weak against Holy elemental damage.
    • Thankfully, while they do have a sort of hitscanning attack (which will still use Tracers with the default options set) as their default attack, it is almost always way less aggravating to deal with versus the seeking missiles of their unpossessed Revenant counterparts, though it can slowly whittle down your health, and the spread and accuracy of the attack is all over the place. This attack is also the sole hitscan attack Flora can accquire in Doom mode via the Death Incarnate's soul being accquired, the only others being the Elven Wand(s) and Dragon Claw(s) in the Heretic gamemode.
    • A last note is that sometimes, even if knocked down without being overkilled, there is a 1 out of 8 chance that after the duration of time passes that they would self-resurrect, their Hades Sphere can randomly choose to emerge from their body to attack you anyways, preventing the Incarnate from getting back up anymore, which can sometimes take players by surprise.
  • Spiritual Successor - In some regards, one to "Naferia's Reign: Invasion of the Dark Mistress", an RPG-elements-centric mod for Duke Nukem 3D made by the same creator, except lacking the "multiple characters in a single party" element, but more streamlined or improved in other aspects, such as monsters having evolved counterparts, or leveling up alongside the player like in NR, or having an in-game menu for things like the perks system or checking the player's other stats and spell descriptions.
