  • Demonic Spiders: Cultist Elite Mooks (recognizable for their eye-catching bright red powered armor and headdresses) do absolutely monstrous damage with their Concussion Rifles, and like other enemies with shields the right course of action is to throw something at them - the trick is being able to actually land the hit while strafing at full speed avoiding their Concussion Rifles or accidentally getting your item shot away.
  • Game-Breaker: The gravity arm can trivialize many combat encounters if you can master landing hits with it, since thrown heavy objects are a One-Hit Kill on most basic foes and can instantly deplete shields, making it essential against Elite Mooks in powered armor. On top of that, the gravity arm can rip guns out of enemies' hands if they're stunned, and large objects can double as mobile cover against gunfire. That said, this only applies to heavy and sharp objects like large crates and sawblades - if you hurl a small crate you may as well be throwing a beach ball.
    • A single shot from the Concussion Rifle is usually all it takes to kill anything that is humanoid and doesn't have shields, and unlike other power weapons like the RPG the Concussion Rifle actually has a decent rate of fire and a generous ammo pool. The impact from the Concussion Rifle will also launch enemies into the air, which means a sharp enough player will have the ability to eliminate stubborn enemies by simply blasting them into bottomless pits.
  • Goddamned Bats: Enemies with energy shields can soak up bullets like they're going out of style, and about halfway through Episode 2 they become annoyingly common. If you don't have an energy weapon or explosives, you'll have to disengage and find the nearest heavy object to hurl at them, which can break the pace of combat.
  • That One Boss: The final encounter of Episode 3 has a trio of heavily armed cops ambush you, and not only do they have massively buffed shields and health, they are also armed with extremely powerful laser rifles that can take you from fully healed with full shields to dead in two or three shots even on normal difficulty. Your best bet is to stun them with shock grenades, and then blast them out of the arena with a Concussion Rifle. If you're out of either, you may as well start the level over.
