''The Mr. Men Show'' is an animated television series adapted from the original Mr. Men animated shows of the [[TheSeventies 1970s]], [[TheEighties 1980s]] and [[TheNineties 1990s]], which were based on Roger Hargreaves' book series, ''Literature/MrMen'' and ''Little Misses''. ''The Mr. Men Show'', however, differs from the older versions in that it eschews the morality tale format and takes a sketch comedy approach to the characters. Each episode features short comedy sketches, dance numbers and music videos.

It is produced in Glendale, California, by Renegade Animation. The series is directed by Mark Risley; executive producers are Eyrk Casemiro and Kate Boutilier.

The show originally aired on February 4, 2008, in the United States and February 25, 2008, in the United Kingdom. It originally aired on on Creator/CartoonNetwork in the United States, but stopped airing it after the show ended, and reruns in the UK ended in 2015, though nearly every UK episode can be viewed on YouTube ... IN HD!

Each episode is made up of two 11-minute shorts. There have been two seasons, each with 26 episodes.

Has a [[Recap/TheMrMenShow recap page]] under construction.

There is also an unrelated 1997 series also called "The Mr. Men Show" that redubbed the French-produced "Mr. Men and Little Miss" shorts, and presented them with live-action comedy segments.
----
!!Tropes in this series:

* AbsenteeActor: Averted for Mr. Bump, as he is the only character to appear in every single episode.
* AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal: More like Accessory-Wearing LivingPolyhedron.
* AdaptationDyeJob:
** Mr. Quiet was brown in the original books; in the show, he is pale blue. In fact, in concept art, he was green!
** Also, Mr. Lazy was pink in the original books; in the show, he is green.
** Miss Magic was light brown in the original books; in the show, she is orange.
* AdaptedOut: Because of the long history of characters, most of them didn't appear in the show.
* AluminumChristmasTrees: Many of the dishes Mr. Grumpy and Mr. Fussy say in the show may sound obscure to younger viewers (eg. Mashed Swede and yams, crepe suzette, bangers and mash), but they are real foods.
* AmbiguousSituation: It's never stated whenever or not the Mr. Men and Little Misses' skin colors are actually part of their body or they're just FurIsClothing. Characters like Mr. Messy and Mr. Nervous exposed their feet closeup, but then you have characters like Mr. Grumpy and Miss Chatterbox having BodyPockets.
* AmericanGothicCouple: Mr. Grumpy and Miss Scary were in the position of how the painting was shown at the beginning of "Farm".
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: As always.
* {{Animesque}}: This series feels a bit like an anime, especially with the typical Anime sound effects put to use. It also helps that the slight feel of it (ala twinkle eye and pupils disappearing when feared sometimes) is done also by Creator/RenegadeAnimation, the studio behind ''WesternAnimation/HiHiPuffyAmiYumi''.
* AnachronismStew: According to the play seen in "Dillydale Day", the city of Dillydale was founded by Viking settlers who enacted a sort of Thanksgiving with the local ''caveman'' population. Also, this ''city'' was ruled by a Marie Antoinette-esque queen at some point, who was deposed in a revolution.
* AnimalsHateHim: Mr. Bump. Animals always attack him first even though there are other Mr. Men or Little Misses who are much closer to reach. This ranges from bees to reptiles, and even ''fish''.
* AssemblyLineFastForward: Mr. Lazy's segment in "Jobs" deals with him trying to place the cupcakes in boxes, but couldn't hold up once the conveyor belt is going faster. He ends up eating a majority of the cupcakes, which end him up in a stomach ache.
* BatmanCanBreatheInSpace: Somewhat an odd case. Episodes like "Picnic", "Sun and Moon" and "Outer Space" shows that the characters need to wear spacesuits when in space. But other instances like in "Games" show that they can breath in it.
* BeachEpisode: [[Recap/TheMrMenShowS1E6Beach Beach]] [[Recap/TheMrMenShowS2E21Seashore Seashore]] and [[Recap/TheMrMenShowS2E47SandAndSurf Sand and Surf]].
* BigOlUnibrow:
** Mr. Grumpy and Mr. Stubborn are Type I. They are two of the more negative personality characters, and the only two to have big unibrows.
** Surprisingly Mr. Quiet, Mr. Scatterbrain, and Mr. Messy are Type II.
** The other characters also have Type II ones on occasion.
* BirthdayEpisode:
** The whole episode "Birthday" deals about Mr. Grumpy's birthday.
** Mr. Fussy and Messy's segment in "Gifts" deals with them sharing the same birthday.
* BlackBeadEyes
* BlatantLies: "Oh sure, I'm a trained professional."
* BlindWithoutEm: Miss Whoops.
* BookEnds: Most episodes starts with the narrator saying 'Ah, [subject matter for this episode]', then repeating it at the end.
* BrilliantButLazy: Mr. Lazy would rather build a fully-functioning machine to do his work than do the work himself.
* BrokenSmile: Mr. Happy gets that more then once. C'mon, you didn't think he was REALLY happy when he was running for his life (like everyone else) in the ship from "Boats" did'ja?
* ButtMonkey: [[TheChewToy Mr. Bump]], Miss Calamity, Mr. Grumpy, Mr. Quiet and Mr. Fussy/Persnickety.
* CampingEpisode: The episode "Camping" deals with the Mr. Men and Little Misses camping out in the woods.
* CanonForeigner: Miss Calamity and Miss Daredevil are created specifically for the show. Both Mr. Scatterbrain and Stubborn also count in one way, as they don't have anything in common of the Little Misses they're based after other than their names.
* CarryingACake:
** Miss Calamity carried one in Mr. Grumpy's commercial for the Tickle Protector, but dropped it thanks to Mr. Tickle. This animation was recycled in "Rainy Day" except it's Mr. Rude who bumps her.
** Mr. Messy was carrying "one" (it was a blob of messy thanks to Mr. Stubborn) in "Birthday", but Miss Calamity collided with him thanks to the drips of batter and dropped it.
* CatchPhrase: Everyone has one:
** "Crooked cucumbers!" for Mr Grumpy. One time [[{{Mondegreen}} it sounded more like something cucumbers]].
** "Poopity poop!" for Mr. Bump, when an injury has taken place or is about to take place.
** ''''"I CAN'T HEAR YOU! NEXT PLEASE!"'''' But Mr. Noisy often tells others to be quiet. The one he uses the most is "It's SUPER!".
** "Yo, [insert a Mr Men or Little Miss name here]" and "Aw pickles" and also "[[DoesNotKnowHisOwnStrength Aw pickles, I hardly touched it.]]" for Mr. Strong.
** "I love chocolate cake. I love pencil erasers/rubbers too." could come off as Little Miss Chatterbox's CatchPhrase sometimes.
** And "Where is my head?" for Mr Scatterbrain. (Also, "Why didn't you say so?".)
** "This (x) is Cheap!" for Mr Stubborn.
** "Just trying to be helpful." for Little Miss Helpful.
** "Wonderful!!!" for Mr Happy.
** "I THINK SOMEBODY NEEDS A TICKLE!" for (who else?) Mr Tickle.
** "I'll give you (x)", followed by a fart, for Mr. Rude.
*** "MR. RUDE!" by everyone else immediately afterward.
* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: Little Miss Calamity is never mentioned after season 2.
* CircusEpisode: The episode "Circus" deals withe Mr. Men and Little Misses trying to put on the big top.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Mr. Scatterbrain, as befits his name. In "Airports", when he can concentrate long enough to print off two tickets and two luggage tags for Mr. Happy and Mr. Rude, he puts the tag on Mr. Happy and puts him on the conveyor belt, and gives the ticket to his suitcase.
-->'''Mr. Happy:''' I've never boarded a plane flight like this before!\\
'''Mr. Scatterbrain:''' Your suitcase will be in seat 22B, if you need it!
* ClockTower: Dillydale has a clock tower, which resembles an arm with the clock in the shape of a wrist watch. Mr. Tickle and Mr. Bump had to fix it.
* ContinuityNod: In a episode called "Bad Weather", when Mr. Strong is going to fix Mr. Fussy's leaky ceiling, Mr. Fussy mentions about the last time that happened when Mr. Strong tried to fix it, which happened [[Recap/TheMrMenShowS1E27RainyDay during a Season 1 episode]]. And what do ya know? Mr. Strong does the same exact thing as before!
* ContinuitySnarl: Throughout the episodes, the houses always change their locations.
* CoversAlwaysLie: The ''official YouTube page'' use the wrong images for the thumbnails (eg. [[Recap/TheMrMenShowS2E1Picnics Picnics]] uses a shot from [[Recap/TheMrMenShowS2E41Lunch Lunch]], [[Recap/TheMrMenShowS1E4Farm Farm]] uses a shot from [[Recap/TheMrMenShowS2E7ArtsAndCrafts Arts and Crafts]]. In fact, this trope applies to ''TWENTY-SEVEN EPISODES'': [[note]]"Flying", "Farm", "Paint", "Gardens", "Picnics", "Driving", "Outer Space", "Arts and Crafts", "Game Shows", "Gifts", "Washing and Drying", "Fruit", "Radio", "Supermarket", "Cinema", "Getting Around", "Clocks", "Post Office", "Pets", "Library", "Goo", "Trains and Planes", "Out To Sea", "Next Door", "Lunch", "Machines" and "Home Improvement".[[/note]]
* CulturalTranslation: Because of cultural differences, the dialogue between the English dubs were changed.
** Persnickety was changed to Pernickity and his catchphrase was changed from "Sweet Henrietta!" to "[[{{Woolseyism}} Sweet apple strudel!]]"
** Some words that are okay in America were changed overseas due to either those countries don't understand or because they might be offensive. Like The word "buggers" was changed to "nippers" or Miss Helpful's "fanny pack" to "bum bag" due to it being offensive in the UK.
** The answer Mr. Grumpy states when Miss Sunshine was playing the piano is "Does she have to play like a looney bird?" in the US, but was changed to "Is she playing the Dillydale National Anthem?".
** Beans and rice is changed to bangers and mash.
* DeadpanSnarker: Mr. Grumpy and Mr Rude.
* DemotedToExtra: Despite being introduced in the second season, Mr. Tall and Little Miss Curious were mostly seen in non-speaking background roles. Each only got one speaking role (Little Miss Curious had ''two lines total''). This is in contrast to other season two characters such as Miss Giggles, Miss Bossy, and especially Miss Magic, who had the most screentime of any of the second season characters.
* TheDentistEpisode: Mr. Quiet's segment in "Clean Teeth" has him going to the dentist to get his teeth clean, but it's ruined thanks to Miss Whoops.
* DigitalDestruction:
** The transition of the frogs from [[Recap/TheMrMenShowS1E14Science Science]] is stuck after Miss Naughty leaves in the US dub, but not in the other dubs.
** The European dubs have the audio formatted slightly pitched and a bit faster. This is averted for the French audios in the US DVD releases and the separate uploads on the official YouTube page.
** Like with Transformers Animated, the show was made in 16:9, but as cropped to 4:3 in television airings.
* DisembodiedEyebrows: Zigzagged a few times. Many of the characters eyebrows can be like in certain shots.
* TheDitz:
** Miss Sunshine. She's sweet and adorable, sure. But she hasn't enough brains to fill an eggcup.
** Miss Chatterbox is frequently too busy talking to pay much attention to anything else she is doing.
** Mr. Scatterbrain has the attention span of a goldfish; at one point in "Airports", he almost staples his own nose while distracted.
** Little Miss Whoops is blissfully unaware of the chaos she causes everywhere she goes until it is too late.
** Miss Helpful is anything but, generally leaving the people she tries to help more lost or frustrated than ever.
* DoesNotKnowHisOwnStrength: Mr. Strong. Most of his appearances involve something breaking, which leads to his CatchPhrase. "Aw, pickles. I ''hardly touched it.''"
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: [[https://youtu.be/CAanOfpp-X4?t=8m45s You wanna get that milk? You gotta tickle it out!]]
* DressedToHeal: As part of its sketch comedy nature, any time the characters are portrayed as doctors, they'll have the the headband with mirror and stethoscope.
* DriveInTheater: Dillydale has their own drive in theater, which was the subject for the episode "Cinema" where Mr. Fussy was trying to watch a movie.
* DropInCharacter: Mr. Nosy (unsurprisingly) and Mr. Small. Miss Chatterbox also has no problems inviting herself in.
* DroppedGlasses: In one part of the episode "Eyeglasses," Miss Whoops, as a flight attendant, accidentally loses her glasses when a pile of carry-on luggage falls on her. She attempts to carry on with her duties regardless, but since she's BlindWithoutEm, the [[HilarityEnsues usual ensues]]. At one point, Mr. Nervous gives her his own glasses, telling her she needs them more than he does. This doesn't help, since they have different prescriptions.
* EmbarrassingSlide: In one sketch from the episode "Eyeglasses", Mr. Stubborn (as an eye doctor) is showing slides of various objects to test Mr. Happy's eyesight. After pictures of a windmill and a zebra, the slides suddenly show {{Embarrassing Old Photo}}s of him before showing a picture of a chicken.
* ElevatorFailure: This happens in "Skyscrapers", when Mr. Grumpy and some of the others inside got stuck after Mr. Scatterbrain pushed all the buttons.
* ExtremelyOverdueLibraryBook: Mr. Bump's segment in "Library" deals with him trying to return a book that is about to be due. The first time, the books was overdue. But his later attempts try to avoid this, but something always hold him back. As such, his payment is getting a tickle from Mr. Tickle.
* FacePalm: Mr. Bump, Mr. Quiet, and Mr. Grumpy did this a couple times in the series' run.
* FantasticFruitsAndVegetables: Mr. Scatterbrain created a food tree in "Cooking", after placing all the instant food packages he bought from Miss Helpful into a large food tree.
* FencePainting: This happened in the bumpers in "Paint", where Mr. Nosy and Mr. Small are looking through a fence, but get themselves painted by someone else on the other side.
* FourFingeredHands: The entire cast of this series.
* FrenchJerk: Mr. Rude in both the UK and US versions.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Mr. Scatterbrain, who has an entire menagerie of animals that he seems to [[HammerSpace pull out of nowhere]].
* TheFriendsWhoNeverHang: Despite having a total of 31 characters by the time the show ended, quite a few characters never hang out with others except they're in groups. Even then, they never had much interaction. This is most likely because the show writers wanted to do more familiar pairings they worked with. While viewers may agree in some way, they also wish that show could do some experimentation. These include:
** Miss Calamity with any of the second season characters due to the fact she was removed in that season. The only characters she was with Miss Giggles and Mr. Tall in both Miss Sunshine and Mr. Strong's comic, but never interacted.
** Mr. Fussy and Mr. Grumpy only appeared together in "Flying" and "Shoes". This is likely because they're somewhat similar, even though they aren't.
** Mr. Funny only interacted with Miss Giggles, Miss Sunshine and Mr. Grumpy.
** Despite being shipped by the fandom, Mr. Bump and Miss Calamity only had a few interactions.
* GagSeries: The series deals with a series of short segments.
* {{Gasshole}}: Mr. Rude, which is to be expected with someone whose entire persona is having poor manners. In addition to farting as a RunningGag, he also burps as well.
* GenderFlip: Mr. Scatterbrain and Mr. Stubborn are Little Misses in the books.
* GenkiGirl:
** Miss Daredevil.
** Miss Bossy is a more negative version.
** In fact, pretty much all the Little Misses have traits of this.
* GermanicEfficiency: The very particular and efficient Mr. Persnickety/Mr. Fussy has a German accent in the UK dub.
* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: An epic one happens in the song from "Dillydale Day":
-->'''Mr. Nosy:''' Machines have become our new-found arts;\\
'''Mr. Messy:''' Though their fumes smelt like f--''[[[CurseCutShort train whistle]]]''
* GiantSpider:
** One appears in Miss Helpful's basement in "The Dark".
** The bumpers in "Pests" deals with one crawling to the characters' picnic. Miss Scary scares it in the last bumper when that said spider was eating a picnic.
* GirlishPigtails: Miss Sunshine, Miss Giggles, Miss Naughty and Miss Helpful.
* GlassSlipper: In the episode "Shoes", a play based on Cinderella about the glass slipper fitting on the right girl who might've came to the ball. It fits Miss Chatterbox, but it broke apart after Miss Scary frighten everyone in the play.
* GreatGazoo: Miss Magic.
* GrumpyBear: Mr Grumpy. If it wasn't for that bad-tempered Care Bear, he'd be the trope's name. He also seems to be the only character in Dillydale with a brain...in his opinion, anyway.
* HairDecorations: Miss Sunshine with red ribbons for her braids, Miss Giggles with yellow bows for her pigtails, Miss Curious with a blue bow for her ponytail, Miss Helpful with green bows for her pigtails, Miss Naughty with a green bow on her head, and Miss Whoops with a pink bow on her head (she doesn't have hair).
* HandcarPursuit: Mr. Bump and Miss Helpful used one in "Trains and Planes" when trying to fix the rails. They, alongside Mr. Grumpy in the epilogue tried to get away from the oncoming train Miss Whoops was driving, but makes them bounce off.
* HeWhoMustNotBeHeard: Mr. Funny, who is inspired by Harpo Marx of the Creator/MarxBrothers.
* HeatWave: This is the topic of the episode with the same name, as the characters try to deal with the heat.
* TheHyena: Variant. Little Miss Giggles has something in her head that makes her laugh all the time.
* HypocriticalHumor:
** Mr. Noisy telling others to be quiet, which has been spread on the Mr. Men Wiki. Accidentally clicking on an area of volume to make an instrument quieter instead of louder in [=MIDI2WAV=] Recorder would make you not stop thinking of this!
** Mr. Stubborn told Little Miss Chatterbox to stop talking, but apparently, he goes on and on and on.
** Speaking of Mr. Stubborn, there's this line from him: "Some people think they know everything!"
** Also Mr. Rude: "Some people have no manners."
* ImpossibleLeavening:
** This happened to Miss Calamity in the episode "Restaurants" where she accidentally added too much yeast while making the cinnamon buns.
** A non-food example happened to Mr. Persnickety in "Trains" after Mr. Rude's collection of instant sponges had water added, which causes him to be stuck in the cabin.
** Mr. Fussy dealt with this in "Radio" when taking to make a dish Miss Helpful was instructing in her cooking show.
* IncessantMusicMadness: This happened in "Music", where Mr. Noisy was playing music very loud in the night while Mr. Quiet is trying to sleep.
* IneptMage: It usually takes Miss Magic several tries to get the results people want from her.
* InevitableWaterfall: In [[Recap/TheMrMenShowS1E5Lake one sketch]], Mr. Stubborn goes over a waterfall while going to a calm stream.
-->'''Mr. Happy:''' So, Mr. Stubborn, what do your keen instincts tell you now?\\
'''Mr. Stubborn''' ''(from the bottom of the stream)''''':''' [[PunctuatedForEmphasis That. This. Stream. Is. CHEAP!]]
* InflatingBodyGag: Miss Whoops accidentally inflated helium into her brother Mr. Bump in the bumpers of the episode "Parties".
* InstantMassJustAddWater:
** In "Trains", Mr. Rude has a collection of instant sponges that expand when water is added. Mr. Messy accidentally sprayed the cabin that they started erupting, leaving Mr. Persnickety stuck.
** Miss Helpful was selling packages of instant food. Mr. Scatterbrain thought that it needed to be planted, so he planted all the boxes with water, which actually caused it to make a food tree.
* InstrumentalThemeTune: If Mr. Bump saying "The Mr. Men Show" at the end, as well as all the characters saying "The Mr. Men" four times at the beginning, doesn't count.
* IrisOut: Many of the segments end with this transition.
* ItCameFromTheFridge: Mr. Persnickety's segment in "Chores" deals with him trying to get rid of his moldy blue cheese. While it never grew into a monster, it started pounding his refrigerator and grew into his house at the end, though that was Miss Calamity's fault for spreading it all over when trying vacuum it.
* {{Jerkass}}: Most negative personality characters have traits of this, particularly Mr. Rude.
** JerkWithAHeartOfGold: However, Mr. Grumpy tends to treat people (and animals) with a reasonable degree of politeness and civility, even if he's rather brusque with them and and quite vocal about his opinions.
* KarmaHoudini: Some of the characters who cause harm to others like Miss Naughty, Miss Scary, Miss Whoops and Mr. Noisy never get any consequences for their actions.
* {{Keet}}: Mr. Tickle and to a lesser extent Mr. Bump.
* KitschCollection:
** The episode "Collecting" deals with the characters owning a collection of certain things.
** Mr. Rude had a collection of instant sponges in "Trains".
* LargeHam: Mr. Bump and Mr. Persnickety at times.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Mr. Funny has one.
** BootstrappedLeitmotif: The tune first appeared in the episode "Yard Work" from season 1, when Mr. Funny was not even on the show!
* LipLock: This tends to zigzag in the British dub. Most of time is not bad, though some dialogue change tend to not match with the mouth flaps.
* LivingShadow: In the episode "Sun and Moon," this is shown to be the case with Mr. Funny's shadow.
* LockedInTheBathroom: Miss Calamity got herself stuck in the bathroom in the episode "Trains", but gets out by taking the long way out. She accidentally shoves Mr. Noisy in the same bathroom later.
* LongList: In "Camping", Miss Helpful was reading a long instruction list of what the company who made the instant tent, mostly talking about what other products they made. Mr. Stubborn just wanted her to get to the actual directions.
* MadLibsCatchPhrase: Mr. Stubborn has one: "This X is CHEAP!"
** "I'll give you X." ([[{{Gasshole}} honk]])
*** [[SayMyName MR. RUDE!!!]]
* MadeOutToBeAJerkass: In "Restaurants", when Mr. Persnickety calls Mr. Rude out on his behavior at a place they're dining at, [[ButtMonkey naturally]] the former gets thrown out by Miss. Helpful.
* ManEatingPlant: The chef in Mr. Scatterbrain's restaurant was a man-eating plant. It tried to eat Mr. Grumpy.
** Also, in the beginning of the episode "Science." The plant tried to eat Mr. Bump.
* TheMall: Dillydale has their own mall that appears in a few episodes.
* MeaningfulName: Most of the characters' names describe their basic personalities, although Miss Helpful is an inversion; her attempts to help the other cast members generally leave them worse off than before. This is played straight in the French dub, where she is called ''Mme. Catastrophe''.
* MessyHair: One way Mr. Messy's scribbles can be interpreted as.
* MinimalistCast
* MisterDescriptor
* MotorMouth: Miss Chatterbox.
* MultinationalTeam: The characters in both the US and UK dub have a variety of nationalities/accents.
* NegativeContinuity: Aside from a few continuity nods, things will go back to normal at the next episode (eg. Mr. Bump turning to a book, but is back to normal in the next episode).
* NewJobAsThePlotDemands: In different sketches, various characters will have different jobs. The episode "Jobs" reveals that this is actually a way of life in Dillydale, as everyone gets a new job on Tuesday that lasts for a week.
** It would seem necessary for them to keep changing jobs - if a certain Mr. Men or Little Miss stayed in one job all the time (such as Mr. Scatterbrain or Little Miss Whoops), they would run the business to the ground or cause lots of destruction with it.
* NiceHat: Lots of characters wear hats. Miss Daredevil even wears a helmet!
* NightmareFetishist: Miss Scary.
* NightmareFuelStationAttendant: Little Miss Scary.
* NoFocusOnHumans: Unlike the books, this series does not include any sort of humans. The only exception they somewhat showed humans was in Miss Daredevil's song on "Dance, Dance, Dance" where pairs of long legs are shown.
* NoIndoorVoice: Mr Noisy. His name flat out says that of him.
* NoodleIncident: Mr. Grumpy's memoirs apparently make for riveting reading, according to Mr. Small.
* OdangoHair: Miss Chatterbox wear buns in her hair.
* OddCouple: Mr. Fussy and Mr. Messy. Miss Daredevil and Mr. Quiet. Mr. Rude and Miss Chatterbox too.
* OffModel: At times, including some characters' limbs being disjointed for a single frame.
* OnlySaneMan: Mr Grumpy, Mr Quiet and Mr Fussy (Mr Persnickety in the 1st season). Mr. Happy could also count, but he's too busy being the StepfordSmiler.
* ParkingProblems:
** Miss Bossy's segment in "Next Door" deals with her trying to get Mr. Rude move his monster truck out of her driveway, which he refuses to. She decides to order a tow truck to move it, which then causes a argument between the two. This was solved after Miss Whoops accidentally flattened Mr. Rude's monster truck.
* ThePianoPlayer:
** Mr. Persnickety/Fussy plays one a few times, but his solos get interrupted by someone else.
** Mr. Tickle played a pipe organ in "Music".
** Miss Sunshine played in "Music" when playing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" in the game show ""What Do You Know About Music?"
* PicnicEpisode: "Rainy Day" has a segment with Mr. Bump and Mr. Stubborn having a picnic in the rain.
** The episode "Picnic" deals with the characters handling picnics.
** "Lunch" has a segment with Mr. Fussy having a picnic with Mr. Messy, Miss Chatterbox and Mr. Quiet.
* PieInTheFace: This happens a few times. Best example was in "Fair".
* ThePigPen: Mr Messy.
* PoolScene: The episodes [[Recap/TheMrMenShowS1E30Hotel Hotel]] and [[Recap/TheMrMenShowS2E50Travel Travel]] both have segments that take place at a pool.
* PutOnABus:
** Miss Calamity in Season 2. According to [[WordOfGod the director]], she was PutOnABus because Chorion wanted the show to focus more on the actual book characters (although Miss Daredevil is still around...). One explanation, though, says that she was taken out because viewers were confused as to what the word "calamity" means.
*** Another reason according to Mark is that Chorion hated Miss Calamity.
** Mr. Noisy got turned into a whale by Little Miss Magic in "Travel" and we don't see him again, even in the bumpers, musical numbers, his own songs, but for some reason, he made a speaking appearance in "Bad Weather", and that is the first appearance of Mr. Noisy after he was supposedly PutOnABus. There were only two episodes after his transformation, though, so it may have been a coincidence that he didn't appear.
* QuicksandSucks:
** Mr. Grumpy, Mr. Scatterbrain and Miss Helpful were trapped at the end of their segment in "Adventure".
** Mr. Nervous fell into one after his overgrown front yard in "Yard Work", though he was able to escape.
* RainDance: In the episode "Dance", after Mr. Grumpy yells at Mr. Noisy about thumping above his office, Noisy decided to teach Mr. Stubborn and Miss Whoops about rain dancing, which causes the office below to get flooded.
* RetroUniverse: The series is set in modern times, but has a retro feel.
* RoadApples: Miss Whoops accidentally stepped on dog poop in "Jobs" when she and Mr. Bump were loading a piano.
* RubberMan:
** Mr Tickle. His arms can stretch to any length to reach any Mr Man or Little Miss to give that character, as his name suggests, a tickle. (The original cartoon had his arms extra-long the entire time, but the animators found this too hard to animate in the new version.)
** Mr Bounce, who's known for bouncing around the place, like a giant yellow ball.
** Many of the various characters can count as well if they can stretch their arms and legs in various shots.
* SayMyName: "MR. RUDE!!!"
* ShipTease:
** Bump/Calamity was hinted a few times in the show, due to how similar backgrounds they have. They were together in a table in "Restaurants", Miss Calamity was concerned on Mr. Bump in "Games, and they were waving hello in a transition in "Night".
** Hints of Grumpy/Chatterbox teased a few times, especially in the second season that the writers and animators were teasing of hints of this ship for some odd reason.
* SketchComedy
* SpaceElevator: Miss Magic turned the elevator Mr. Grumpy was stuck on, much to his dismay, but not so much for Miss Daredevil.
* SpacePirates: In one segment in "Pirates" deals with Mr. Happy, Mr. Tickle and Mr. Rude being attacked by a group of space pirates while exploring.
* TheScream: Mr. Noisy had a painting based on it with Mr. Happy screaming in the episode "Clocks".
* StepfordSmiler: Mr. Happy (Type A)
* StockFootage: Done on some scenes.
* SurpriseParty:
** "Birthday" deals with the Mr. Men and Little Misses giving Mr. Grumpy a surprise birthday party.
** "Parties" has one part where the characters are saying surprise at Mr. Grumpy, but he interrupts this after using his Party Protector.
** Some of the segments in "Surprises" deals with this.
* SurroundedByIdiots: Mr. Grumpy and Mr Rude.
* ThickLineAnimation
* TightropeWalking:
** Miss Daredevil did this on "Hobbies", but Miss Naughty tries to mess with it by using her monkeys after she wasn't gonna be featured in "Good Morning Dillydale". Though this didn't worked and Miss Daredevil successfully walked through.
** Miss Calamity did this in "Circus" by using a bike while blindfolded. Though this failed.
* TopHeavyGuy: Mr. Strong.
* ThoseTwoGuys: Mr. Small and Mr. Nosy often hang out together.
* TreehouseOfFun: Mr. Quiet had one in "Trees" where he spends his time alone, but that doesn't last once Miss Chatterbox sees him.
* ATwinkleInTheSky:
** Both Mr. Bounce and Mr. Small were thrown in the sky in "Beach" and "Snow, but without a twinkle.
** Mr. Bump did get this in "Games", as he was shot into space.
* UnwantedAssistance: Little Miss Helpful isn't always help, especially to ButtMonkey characters.
* VagueAge: Everyone, though Mr. Grumpy, Mr. Stubborn, and Mr. Fussy seem a bit older than the others.
* WalkingTechBane: Miss Calamity, whenever she uses any form of machinery it takes a life of its own and starts attacking her.
* WeatherSavesTheDay: The ending of "Heatwave" has a rain storm passing by, which some of the characters are pleased for.
* WhereTheHellIsSpringfield: It's never stated where exactly where Dillydale is, due to its wacky history. It's most likely that it's possibly in California, as the name is based after Glendale (in the US dub).
* WingdingEyes: Miss Chatterbox gets these in "Dance".
* WorldsStrongestMan: Mr. Strong, obviously.
* WrongTurnAtAlbuquerque: Mr. Scatterbrain in the episode "Boats".
--> '''Mr. Scatterbrain:''' I guess I took a wrong turn at Tahiti.
