This series contains examples of:

  • Actually Pretty Funny: In "What's the Time, Hickory?" time keeps rapidly switching between day and night. Daisy and Cole tell Dish and Spoon they're going to go talk to Hickory to find out what's going on. Dish says to tell him that if it's some kind of joke, then it's not funny. Spoon, however, giggles and says that it is a bit funny.
  • Disembodied Eyebrows: The train Jaime has these.
  • Female Feline, Male Mutt: Subverted with the two main characters, Daisy is a dog and Cole is a cat.
  • Nursery Rhyme: The entire show features many Nursery Rhyme characters. These include Humpty Dumpty, Mary Mary, Jack and Jill, and the cow who jumped over the moon, to name just a few.
  • Sentient Vehicle: The train Jaime is one of these, chatting with the other characters and guided by a sentient star at night to get home.
  • Sweet Sheep:
    • "Little Lamb" from the Nursery Rhyme "Mary Had A Little Lamb" is a playful and sweet-natured baby lamb. In the first episode, she is seen following Mary Mary everywhere she goes much to the annoyance of Mary. She ends up snapping at the Little Lamb which ends up hurting her feelings and becoming sad. Near the end of the episode, Mary Mary begins feeling guilty for how she treated her and quickly make up. Little Lamb would later become a recurring character in the show, notably in the show's second season.
    • There's also "Baa Baa Black Sheep" who is seen delivering her wool across town to the various Nursery Rhyme characters. She can be a little dramatic at times, but enjoys tap dancing and singing when she gets very happy and excited.
  • The Place: Rhyme Time Town is the show's title.
  • Title Theme Tune: "Come on, let's go to Rhyme Time Town!"
