The Daily Mash is a British satirical website in the same sort of vein as The Onion, online since 2007. Where it differentiates itself from The Onion is its crude and scatological humour, as well as its cynical and misanthropic worldview. It also differs from Private Eye's satire in being unashamedly crude and less overtly political.

The Daily Mash has examples of the following:

  • Berserk Button: This article proposes how to push the Tolkien fandom's buttons in six ways, with the occasion of the upcoming The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
  • Crapsack World: The Mash's worldview generally revolves around things being awful and likely to do nothing but get worse.
  • Generic Name: The Mash has a very limited pool of names it uses for people across numerous different articles, with "Tom Logan", "Nikki Hollis" and "Donna Sheridan" being the usual suspects. Scientific reports are also usually produced by "Professor Henry Brubaker" of the "Institute for Studies".
  • Humans Are Bastards: People in general are consistently portrayed as stupid, ignorant, lazy, self-important, greedy, apathetic, myopic, pretentious and prone to following idiotic fads (which are themselves often skewered).
Hygge fan Emma Bradford said: "It’s about enjoying the simple things in life, or just yet another excuse to pamper myself and enjoy lots of nice treats while thinking I am deep."
  • Pet Fad Starter: "Women Under Increasing Pressure To Have Dragons" is about women feeling that they need to have baby dragons as pets because of the popularity of Daenerys Targaryen and her pet dragons from Game of Thrones.
