Originating as far back as 2018, The Good Advice Cupcake is a web original that started with short, one-page comics and other images before doing animated skits a month later. It's kind of Exactly What It Says on the Tin: the skits star an anthropomorphic cupcake who - despite being ambiguously insane - gives you an instant moral.

Despite the cute imagery, this show falls into the category of a Subverted Kids' Show, since the characters will swear in some skits. The skits themselves can be found on Instagram, TikTok, and BuzzFeed to name a few. It even has its own merch store and a book.

Tropes include:

  • A Dog Named "Dog": Every character is named after the sweet they're based on.
  • Ambiguous Gender: Bun (Cuppy's romantic partner) has no gender. This fact is based on how viewer interpret them.
  • Anthropomorphic Food: Just about almost every character.
  • Anti-Mentor: Cupcake herself can be this at times. For starters, her advice about treating others the way they want to be treated ends with her tossing the doughnut into the sun just because he intentionally coughed on her.
  • Cute But Psycho: Name-dropped on an ad for the plush figure of Cuppy holding a knife.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: When the series was only images and comics (like these two), the art style was notably rougher and wasn't as cutesy as around the time it started to bring along animated skits.
  • Groin Attack: "Sometimes when life gets you down... you gotta grab it by the balls!"note
  • Gross-Up Close-Up: Be glad there's no blood, but snot and red eyes sometimes deserve this.
  • I'm Melting!: Happens quite a lot, actually.
  • Polyamory: Cuppy complains about wanting a boyfriend in one post. Many commenters thought she had broken up with Bun (she hadn't), suggesting this trope is in play.
  • Precious Puppies: Cookie falls victim to this in this video. It still doesn't abate after her dog horks up a rope toy (implying that it was dim enough to eat the toy).
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Cuppy is quite foul-mouthed.
  • Subverted Kids' Show: If you want to actually watch this for hours on end, just get used to the swear words these characters say.
  • Woman of a Thousand Voices: Kyra Kupetsky is the voice behind all of the recurring characters.
