Tropes:
- The Atoner: Following the plot triggering events, Aaron does what he can to help Holy and Jamie, to make up for almost killing Holy.
- Childhood Friend Romance: Between Holy and Jamie. Holy was one of the few alive folks to remember Jamie and the one that made him promise to marry her when they were kids. She had plans of traveling the world with Jamie. They become a couple during the events of the story. They get married at the end.
- Effortless Amazonian Lift: Holy carries Jamie with ease several times throughout the story, without ever showing signs of fatigue. Including at their wedding
- I See Dead People: Jamie can see and have conversations with ghosts.
- Lethal Chef: Every time Holy tries to cook, it ends up in disaster, with the most successful cake she made for Jamie... becoming little more than a large brick.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Aaron feels immensely guilty for almost killing Holy, and for causing the mess of the plot.
- Only Sane Woman: Erin is one of the few characters that doesn't have emotional baggage with a ghost, nor does anything that endangers other people. She is also one of the few rational folks during the story.
- Violently Protective Girlfriend: Holy won't hesitate to threaten anyone that would dare hurt Jamie.
- Small Role, Big Impact: Aaron. If it weren't for him picking a fight with Jamie, over Holy, she wouldn't have intervened, thus tripping on a mop, getting into a coma, thus causing the ENTIRE events of the plot.
- Used to Be a Tomboy: Holy. She had short hair, and an aggressive attitude. You would be forgiven for mistaking her to be a boy, in the flashbacks of her and Jamie's childhood
