In this story, we follow the young Amorian, Kypper, who dreams of discovering her Queen's secrets. However, the Queen is not what she seems. Her brother, Xavier, tries to keep up with her and ensures she stays out of trouble. Sir Sedrik, the snake, tries to teach his new student, Kypper, all he knows about the world.
- Action Girl: Queen Adora is an accomplished warrior in her own right. Especially back in her youth when she slew a Titan in single combat.
- Adopted into Royalty: Kypper and Xavier are adopted by Queen Adora in Chapter 7.
- Cain and Abel: Jaal and Adora.
- Gunpowder Fantasy: The level of technology around the present is roughly on par with The Napoleonic Wars. Thus far we've seen Amorian soldiers with flintlock rifles.
- Snakes Are Sinister: Averted with Sir Sedrik, who couldn't be further from the stereotype.
- Uplifted Animal: Of a sort, Amora is populated by the Dyra, magical animals capable of speech. Mostly canines, but Sir Sedrik despite being a snake, is one of the Dyra.
