"Code Geass R 2 Remake" is a fanfiction comic series, written and illustrated by bonzo, which serves as an alternate ending to Code Geass R2 and drastically changes the fates of many of the characters. Picking up where Turn 21 of Code Geass R2 left off, Lelouch vi Britannia has taken over the royal palace and appointed himself as the 99th Emperor of Britannia. He plans to add several changes to the Zero Requiem as well as retelling events in Turns 22-25. It can be read here
Code Geass R 2 Remake provides examples of:
- Babies Ever After: Lelouch and Kallen have twins, a son and a daughter they named Naoto and Shirley. They would eventually have three more, a son named Nicholas, and daughters named Elizabeth and Zoyo. Its later revealed that Sayoko had a daughter with Jerimiah named Jeraldine
- Bittersweet Ending: Schneizel is now seen as the evil foe the world to unite against and is stopped by the combined forces of the Black Knights and Britannia. Euphemia has been vindicated for the Massacre with all blame being placed on Charles, VV, and the Geass Order clearing her name. C.C./Elizabeth dies in order to ensure the curse of the Code and Geass can never be used again. Lelouch faking his death to the world, sent into exile under a new alias cutting all ties to his friends and family, and has to live with the guilt and goes through a lot of self-loathing. With Lelouch and Suzaku never being able to fully forgive themselves for what they have done. Nunnally is making the world better as Britannia’s new empress, Lelouch and Kallen started a family and Lelouch finally reciprocates his feelings with Kallen as they plan to have another child with Lelouch finally being able to put the past behind him.
- Call-Back: Lelouch recalls how Kallen wore a bunny suit during his game against the Dark King.
- Cruel Mercy: Suzaku views Lelouch’s fate as this due to being allowed to live with the guilt of all the pain he’s caused.
- Death by Adaptation: Kallen’s mother, C.C./Elizabeth, Anya, Tamaki, Xingke, Kanon, Schneizel, and Jerimiah are all dead by the end.
- Disabled in the Adaptation: Due to the council not trusting Lelouch due to his Geass ability, he proceeds to stab his left eye as a way to show he won’t use his Geass on them. He gets shot in the leg and becomes blind after dealing with Schneizel, and has to rely on Kallen as his caretaker.
- Fix Fic: After being disappointed by the cannon ending, Bonzo rewrote the last four chapters of Code Geass.
- Friends with Benefits: Lelouch and Kallen start off as this even after having their first set of twins. Overtime after having their third child Lelouch finally confesses his love for Kallen and they get married soon after.
- Good Parents: Despite their issues Lelouch and Kallen become this to their children.
- Laser-Guided Amnesia: Lelouch does this to Nina not only to make her forget about the FLEJA but also Euphemia so she will no longer be consumed by revenge anymore.
- Mama Bear: Kallen attacks Suzaku when she sees him spying on them at night and fearing for her children's safety.
- Named by Adaptation: C.C. name is Elizabeth.
- Official Couple: Lelouch and Kallen by the end of the comic.
- Relationship Upgrade: Lelouch and Kallen start off their exile together with Kallen as Lelouch's caretaker, they become Friends with Benefits after their first time together even when they have kids, eventually after their third child Lelouch accepts Kallen's love for him and they decide to get married.
- Someone to Remember Him By: Jeraldine is the daughter of Sayoko and Jerimiah when she give her body to him as part of her family tradition.
- Spared By Adaptation: Lelouch isn’t killed in the Zero Requiem.
