Go To

Children of the Gun is an Interactive Comic created and hosted on the MS Paint Fan Adventures website. After a boy named Noah finds himself in conflict with a strange entity known only as "Calamity", he awakens Magical Girl powers, known as a "Persona" and becomes entangled in the battles between the various factions of these Persona users. Nothing is as it seems, and every detail is vague.

Children of the Gun contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Blessed with Suck: Some of the magical powers the kids have are laughably bad, if not useless.
    • Waverine's body is non-Newtonian.
    • Ceruphim can punch people to sleep.
    • Whiplash's fire does nothing.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Jake's persona, Felfreze, is very feminine, to the point where they have Angel Dust-esque "Boob Fluff".
  • Elemental Powers: Various Personas manifest in this way
  • Expy: Avatars of the Machine God look a lot like Zero.
  • Forgetful Jones: Noah forgets things very quickly, likely due to his Vault.
  • I Have Many Names: Noah goes by new name each day, much to Jake's chagrin, but always forgets it and defaults back to Noah.
  • Leitmotif: The Calamities are all introduced with a different song from Carpenter Brut's Trilogy.
  • Magical Girl Genre Deconstruction
  • Theme Naming: The five main kids all share a naming convention. A four-lettered nickname, a six-lettered full name, and a six-lettered surname. The adults share a similar naming convention but with three-lettered nickname and a seven-lettered full name.
  • You Keep Using That Word: Jake points out that "Eidetic" isn't the best descriptor for how Noah's memory works, and that he might be confusing it with "Eclectic".
