"Better luck next time!"

The Sonic.exe RERUN UST is a music project led by DJ Awesome and hosted via YouTube, Spotify and Soundcloud, comprising of making unofficial remixes of tracks heard in the Vs. Sonic.exe RERUN soundtrack, amongst some others. Each of these consist of alternate takes on the formulas introduced in the original songs, such as an iteration of Sonic.exe, known as Diablo, who loves Playing with Fire.

Song List (in order of release)

Tropes:

  • Adaptational Species Change: In the original "Gamebreaker", Pico was a hedgehog character, but in the DJcore remix part of this package, his counterpart here, Squeco, is a mouse.
  • Canon Welding: During the big fight in "Post-Mortem", NES Sonic is able to use the Blue Chaos Emerald to create clones of himself to fight Eggman with, a skill that wouldn't have been implemented at that time otherwise.
  • Cool Mask: Diablo wears a skull for a mask for a good portion of "Drop and Roll", before he sheds it following Boyfriend attacking him.
  • Fight Scene: These are present in "Post-Mortem" and the climaxes of both "Gamebreaker DJcore" and "Drop And Roll", all fully animated.
  • The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You: Vinesauce Joel is unfortunate enough to end up on the receiving end of this, due to NES Eggman noticing him beyond the screen and turning his attention to him for the rest of "Post-Mortem" after NES Sonic falls.
  • Glitch Entity: DS (the DX in this soundtrack series) is this as standard, and NES Eggman inadvertently becomes one after he almost gets killed.
  • Hero Killer: Quite a few in this series. Let's see...
    • NES Eggman manages to kill NES Sonic AND puppeteer him before the climax of "Post-Mortem".
    • Diablo manages to succeed in killing Boyfriend, outmatching him in combat before slaughtering him then and there.
  • Playing with Fire: This is Diablo's main gimmick, as he utilises it to set Angel Island ablaze and to attack Boyfriend when he dares the demon to throw hands.
  • Shout-Out: Diablo's lyrical section follows the melody of "Play With Me" by longestsoloever, though his lyrics deviate after the first line.
  • Suddenly Speaking: During "Drop and Roll", Boyfriend counters Diablo's lyrical section with some proper rapping of his own to boast about how he's no different from other creeps he had encountered. But, unfortunately, this doesn't end well for him.
