The GTA Connection is a Machinima series of Grand Theft Auto created by YouTuber BIGJACK45. It follows the Player Characters of all of the games (Claude, Toni, Tommy, Mike, Carl, Victor, Niko, Johnny, Luis, Huang, Franklin, Michael and Trevor) as they commit crimes in Los Santos.

The series concluded on May 16, 2021 with five seasons, then character epilogues were released from July 4 to November 2, 2021.

The GTA Connection provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Intelligence: While CJ was by no means an idiot in his game, here he's able to work on computers and track down people based on their criminal record.
  • Back from the Dead: Episode 1 of Season 3 has all the protagonists who died prior get picked up by their friends from the hospital.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Franklin, Michael and CJ all work together to rescue Amanda in Season 1.
  • Corrupt Cop: The first Big Bad Mute is a member of the LSPD gone rogue, and his goal is to retrieve a hard drive containing information about every police officer in San Andreas so he can bribe and corrupt all of them.
  • Damsel in Distress: The Season 1 Story Arc starts with Johnny kidnapping Michael's wife Amanda on orders of Mute.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: In Season 1, it seems like Steve Haines is the one behind all the kidnappings, but then he gets killed and Mute is revealed as the true mastermind.
  • Distressed Dude: Tommy arrives in Los Santos after receiving a call for help from Lance, then he goes on to rescue him. Later, we see that Mute had Sweet, Lamar and Roman captured as well.
  • Ensemble Cast: The series focuses on all of the protagonists working together to achieve their goals.
  • Here We Go Again!: Niko says this verbatim when Johnny gives him a paper containing an address in Season 1.
  • Hostage for MacGuffin: Mute gets all the protagonists to retrieve a hard drive for him by kidnapping some of their friends and family.
  • Killed Off for Real: Mute gets killed by CJ at the end of Season 1 for good.
  • Plot Armor: Any protagonist that dies will recover and come back, but not other characters.
  • Shout-Out: The Arc Villain of Season 1 is uses a skin of Mute from Rainbow Six Siege.
  • The Speechless: Claude, Mike and Huang Lee. Justified because they were never voiced in their original games.
  • Villain Protagonist: It's a given, with this being GTA.
