The only wish here is that the adventure never ends (or, you know, no one ends up getting hurt)! note

Lumi and the Great Big Galaxy is an upcoming sci-fi/comedy Web Animation series created by Evan B. (AKA Starteas). It is a Spiritual Successor to Wander over Yonder.

Somewhere in a great big galaxy, five eclectic alien teens come across our titular Lumi, a young living star that can grant wishes. One way or another, it becomes their mission to help the little cosmic entity find their way home. But it won't be easy. The galaxy is a very different place since its creator, the beloved Goddess Elios, mysteriously disappeared. And now, there are forces that would see everything turned to darkness...

Initially conceived as a webcomic, it was retooled into a potential animated series. As of this writing, the pilot is in the post-production phase. The link for the Backerkit sign-up can be found here.

Tropes:

  • Attack of the Town Festival: The pilot takes place during a festival dedicated to Elios. Presumably, Lumi's arrival causes havoc.
  • Big Bad: Void, a rogue cosmic entity out to snuff out all light in the galaxy.
  • Five-Man Band: Counting Lumi as the Sixth Ranger -
  • Have You Seen My God?: Elios' disappearance has resulted in discord across the galaxy, namely Hala acting out and the creation of Void itself.
  • The Homeward Journey: The overall premise is our five kids helping Lumi find their way home.
  • Humans Through Alien Eyes: In this galaxy, humans are the equivalent of Bigfoot. As in, very few believe in their existence except for paranormal enthusiasts like Siona. In fact, humans are her greatest passion.
  • Nice Mean And In Between: The initial lead trio is reckless-yet-goodhearted Siona (In-Between), gentle Davin (Nice), and troublemaker Holden (Mean).
  • Non-Human Non-Binary: All the characters are aliens who are on the non-binary spectrum. For example, Siona's pronouns are she/they, Mika's are he/they, Davin and Lumi are both they/them, etc.
  • Solar and Lunar: Elios and Hala, creators of the galaxy, are inspired by the sun and moon respectively. Fittingly, Elios was a bright and wonderful person while Hala was cold and aloof, but still drawn to her big bright lover. Without her, she's even colder.
  • The Stars Are Going Out: Under Hala's reign, stars are dying out due to her not wanting anything to do with that part of the burden she has anymore. Unfortunately, not only does this result in Lumi being lost, but also Void's genesis.
  • True Companions: Siona and Davin, natch. Supposedly, the rest of the six main characters will follow suite, based on the promotional material.
  • Wish Upon a Shooting Star: Lumi is a living star, and can supposedly grant wishes. Just how good they are at it remains to be seen.
