A series about a time lord who has a TARDIS and has to fight the Daleks and... Yeah, you get the idea.
The Doctor Who Animated Series (not to be confused with The BBC's animated serials of Doctor Who) is a fan-made webtoon that debuted in August 2014, broadcasting 8 episodes in that same month on YouTube.
The second season debuted in September 2014, and that season was known to suffer hiatuses, particularly the one between the release of the movie on Vimeo and the start of it's burnoff season on YouTube. A new episode has not been broadcast since August 16th, 2015, due to the creator spending more time on Nickelodeon Fanon, Gorge Fanon, and This Very Wiki. Despite this, he announced in the wee-hours of the morning of March 13th, 2016 that the series would be returning in time for summer 2016.
In the description for most of the episodes, the creator put in a note (that is true) that he doesn't own Doctor Who and that The BBC own the rights to Doctor Who.
The majority of the webtoon can be seen here.
The Doctor Who Animated Series contains examples of:
- Animated Adaptation: To Doctor Who.
- Blatant Lies: Well, at least the correct year the episode came out is used, unlike Greeny Phatom. But still, the production companies that "helped out" with the series never had anything to do with the series.
- Counterfeit Cash: What The Doctor discusses to the owner of the Monster Coin Restoration Society.
- Gosh Dang It to Heck!: "Dang, that's a lot of money!"
- Limited Animation
- Shout-Out: Name an episode (that was uploaded to YouTube after the Thanksgiving Episode) that doesn't mention Supernanny Fanon or otherwise.
- And before that, there's the various Five Nights at Freddy's references...
- In the series' own discussion page, the creator himself put up a reference to Star vs. the Forces of Evil, while still saying he doesn't own that series.
- Also from the discussion page: "An entire night writing comments... but nobody came."
- Shockingly Expensive Bill: "Well, they turn into girls who turn into monsters, so yeah... That's some of the damage. And then along with the damage that otter caused to our building... We'll end up owing the government $42 trillion dollars."
