The fact that most of the Effects have limited if any use is because ''they were never meant for Madostuki''. Rather, this Madostuki is just a dream avatar of the now-dead real Madotsuki, [[JustForPun Madowanki]], inside of another character's dream, most likely Shitai. Madowanki went {{Yandere}} on his ass, culminating in a traffic accident that killed all the characters except for Shitai, who is not active in the dream world like the other dead avatars because he's still on a lifeline.

* Madotsuki and Poniko were actually in love, but Poniko was from a very religious background that condemned homosexuality as a sin. She decided to 'repent her sins' by becoming a nun. Madotsuki turning off the lights, having to approach Uboa herself and going into the nightmare realm is representative of one night when instead of accepting her advances Poniko blew up with the talk about how they're both going to hell for being this way. Her speech shook Madotsuki so much her fragile psyche imagined her selfin hell (alone, because Poniko seemingly 'changed her way' and 'became right', so she doesn't go to hell) where a whole lot of groping and phallic and semen imagery is her punishment: eternal conversion therapy.

[[WMG: Madotsuki is actually obsessed with Earthbound]]
The NASU game is her only other game, which came from the system. She is currently grounded because she played Earthbound too much, and that is why she won't leave the room ("I can't, or the game will be kept from me for another week!"). Eventually, this, let's say, month long grounding with nothing but NASU to play drives her insane, and she commits suicide. Her parents, of course, are shocked, and start convincing people to boycott Earthbound. Word of the boycott and the reason behind it reaches the states, and NoA decides that such an addictive game should never come to North America. The end result? We get stuck without an export because Madotsuki is an addict.

This explains the Mesoamerican-looking entities' presence in her dreams despite Madotsuki being a Japanese {{hikikomori}} (it is unlikely she knows much about Mesoamerican cultures unless she has Internet or a bookshelf, but we don't see these in her room). Those entities are spirits and demons that found it confortable inside her disturbed psyche and are responsible for some of her problems. These demons are so powerful that [[VideoGame/{{Psychonauts}} Madotsuki's censors are unable to kick them out from her system]], only managing to imprison them in dark corners of her mind (the [[FanNickname Aztec Rave Monkey]] for instance is trapped inside a small box and can only be seen when Madotsuki takes a peek in it, though parts of it are sealed in the background, along with the other {{Mayincatec}} invaders). Over time, these entities would break free and materialize in physical form thanks to their nourishment of negative emotions (which Madotsuki offers in heaping amounts) and prove a great threat towards the world. Madotsuki doesn't know this, but her room has actually been perfectly replicated inside a containment facility at the Wiki/SCPFoundation in case these demons manage to escape.
