Super is a Time Lord, and the Treeborhood is her TARDIS
Hey, someone had to get the terrible theories out of the way first.

The Treeborhood is a utopia
It's not really an anarchist utopia because they are shown using money, but it seems to be a perfect paradise where nothing really bad happens besides losing a toy or getting soap bubbles everywhere. There's also no law enforcement because no one ever breaks the law.

Maybe the Treeborhood is a stand-in for Heaven, and all of the characters used to be humans, but became different animals in the afterlife. This means that the Flowerborhood, where Sammy's mom Yolanda lives, is Hell, and he is one of the only people to have visited both Heaven and Hell. Think about it. There is actually a flower called Morning Star. The Devil's real name, Lucifer, means Morningstar. Coincidence? I think not!

The wombats' parents are explorers
In the same vein as Scootaloo's parents and Arnold's parents, the wombats' mother and father explore the world beyond the Treeborhood, but they can't take their kids along because it would be too dangerous.

The Treeborhood is a Retro Universe
In "Cafe Chaos," Mr. E is shown using a flip phone, and in "Summerweenie Halloweenie," he gets annoyed at his show being interrupted, even though he could just stream it later on. These signs point to the show being set in a world where technology hasn't progressed past the 2000s, but with modern social values. For example, the Treeborhood is multicultural, with many people speaking languages that aren't English, and no one seems to have a problem with a same-sex couple raising a child.

There is one thing that could disprove this theory: Kaya, JunJun's big sister, is an influencer who makes videos, which means that she could be an Instagram or TikTok user. The 2000s didn't really have social media influencers like we do now.

  • Jossed. The characters are shown using smartphones and laptops, proving that it takes place in the present day with current technology. Now, I think that Mr. E using a flip phone is just to show how old-fashioned he is.

This will never become canon because the show is too sugary for that kind of stuff, but I just wanted to throw it out there. "Measure for Measure" shows that Mr. E inherited the Everything Emporium from his ancestors.

However, his ancestors/relative were incredibly strict and horrible at parenting/being a good guardian in general. From a young age, they prepared Mr. E to own the Emporium one day. He never got to do fun things such as celebrate Halloween or draw (which is why he never went trick-or-treating and why he, a grown man, didn't know how to draw a square in "Zoom In Zadie"). They yelled at him every time he made a mistake and always wanted things to be perfect. This is why Mr. E is so highly strung and Obsessively Organized.

Mr. E acts like he hates the wombats, but really, he's just jealous because they remind him of the happy childhood that was taken away from him. He also likes Ellie so much because she's so nice and always brightens his day.

  • Adding more fuel to this theory is that he's a Black Sheep in his family, since they all can draw perfect squares except for him. This is probably where his perfectionist tendencies come from.

Mr. E has dyspraxia
This would explain why he seems to get into so many slapstick accidents, as well as his inability to draw a square.
Super is an MTF trans girl
Her voice sounds like someone transitioning and while you could argue that in The Treeborhood Photo Album, there was a picture of Super as a child but that could have just happened after the transition. Something else that goes along with this theory is that despite Super being an uncommon name,it is most of the time a male name.

Louisa has a crush on Zeke (or vice versa)
This is why Louisa counts Zeke and Snout when she sleeps
