Spacefaring technology already exists
Just as Britannia is visited by the Kilrathi in later games, the presence of craft resembling tie-fighters is due to space travel already existing. Sosaria/Britannia is only culturally in the past. This technology dies off as Sosaria becomes Britannia.

Escape from Mt. Drash takes place on Mt. Drash
Mt. Drash is a location in Sosaria. Escape from Mt. Drash takes place there. Mondain may have created the dungeon and the Garrintrots therein.

Lord British colonized Sosaria
The Avatar is not the first visitor from Earth. Prior to the Stranger's arrival, SCA member Richard Garriott entered Sosaria from Earth and split off into both Lord British and Shamino Salle' Dacil, conquering and establishing rule over the land, giving rule to his own counterpart Shamino and to others who would become kings of Sosaria. Bringing forth more friends from Earth, they became known as the Sosarian/Britannian citizens Dupre, Iolo, Mariah, Geoffrey, Dr. Cat, etc. The Stranger/The Avatar was invited many times to visit them and go on journeys together. On Earth they would create a series of games as portals for the player to enter their world.

Lord British's rule is influenced by the Mayan feathered serpent deity Kukulkan
Lord British's rule over Sosaria is due to being under the influence of Kukulkan. Sosaria became Britannia, modeled after Britain. As Queen Elizabeth's rule over Great Britain is due to a Reptilian Conspiracy, Britannia is an extension of the Reptilian consciousness, the crown jewel of Lord British being the serpent amulet, extending to the propagation of serpent emblem iconography, the culture of Serpent's Hold, the continued reverence of the Silver Serpent and the ingestion of Silver Serpent Venom, the ancient Ophidians, and both Shamino and the King of the White Dragon ruling over the Lands of Danger and Despair, becoming Serpent Isle.

Akalabeth is a prequel to Ultima I
Ultima I is not a remake of Akalabeth. Akalabeth tells the story of the lands of Akalabeth, and Mondain's attempt to usurp his father King Wolfgang, gain the inheritance from his brother, and create various dungeons and plague the lands of Akalabeth with monsters, until the arrival of British, Champion of the White Light, who drove Mondain from Akalabeth. This was the Dark Age of Akalabeth, followed by the Revival of Akalabeth. Akalabeth is a land before the time of Sosaria, or a land separate from Sosaria, accessed by portal. After being banished, Mondain flees to Sosaria. The adventurer, knighted by Lord British after defeating the Balrog, is invited to face Mondain again in Sosaria as The Stranger in Ultima I.
