The events of the game are connected to the Lodge on Xylourgos
  • To recap, in the 3 DLC, we were introduced to the planet Xylourgos, a creepy ice planet home to an Eldritch Abomination and a town of dark secrets, curses, and madness called Cursehaven. Just outside Cursehaven was the Lodge, a small inn that was implied to be alive and a haven for those attempting to escape otherworldly occurrences wearing their sanity thin, run by Mancubus Bloodtooth, a mysterious but benevolent man, a practitioner of dark arts, keeper of arcane knowledge, and ambiguously human to boot. NOW, in the game, we meet the character of Izzy, innkeeper of the tavern in Brighthoof, generally friendly individual, and temperamentally miles away from Mancubus… and then the player finds an audio log in the upper floors of her tavern that give away her last name: Bloodtooth. This could indicate that Tina has had a past encounter with the Lodge or Bloodtooth to inspire the character of Izzy or that her family was originally from Xylourgos, which would help to explain her mental state beyond the obvious trauma of losing her parents. It might also explain why the Dragon Lord is suddenly able to act outside of her control: a result of some dark magic on Xylourgos or from the lodge. It’s also possible that Izzy is related to Mancubus (if not Mancubus himself), and the tavern is actually the Lodge having transported into the game. This video from YouTuber EruptionFang should explain the theory with much more clarity.

The DLC chapters will have the characters playing parodies of other tabletop games
Possible games include:

Frette and Valentine will appear in future Borderlands games

A Borderlands 4 DLC will combine Claptastic Voyage/Fustercluck and Dragon’s Keep to go inside Tina’s mind.
Meaning the Dragon Lord could return.
