Deuville will take Evelyn Sader's role in a sequel.

There's a reason Gavaldon's bookseller was changed from a man to a woman (and one played by a big name like Patti LuPone at that) for the film. As Professor Sader has been Adapted Out and Dean Lesso already takes cues from Evelyn, Deuville be a largely original character. She longed to be chosen to attend the schools, similar to Sophie, but her fairy tale dreams went unrealized. In an adaptation of A World without Princes, Deuville will aid the Schoolmaster's resurrection because he promises to give the woman her own story.
