Corso dies at the end of the film.
- A point is made to focus on the Spanish movers struggling with an extremely heavy bookshelf, and warning Corso to step back from it. While this continues just in front of him, Corso is distracted by the final engraving on the floor before a sudden transition to an ambiguous shot of him entering the castle shown in the engraving. A precedent was already set for unusual accidents befalling Corso in and around the Ceniza brothers' shop, and being crushed by a bookshelf would be a suitable Death by Irony for the character.
