Despite what Sylvester and several of his family members think the Ettin Zoo wasn't a zoo. Instead it was a lab for some kind. All the specimens were Guinea pigs for several experiments while the vermin like Gnolls got into several discarded chemicals or whatever after the Ettins were wiped out and all the captives escaped
