Lucio's Court members are meant to symbolize the Horsemen of the Apocalypse:

The parallels seem pretty clear in several cases: the starving, black-clad Volta represents Famine; and Vulgora, who wears mostly red and is all too eager to embrace violence, represents War. Valerius, whose wardrobe favors white and whom at one point seeks to overthrow Nadia and rule Vesuvia himself, stands in for Conquest. The other two- Vlastomil, and Valdemar- are somewhat less easily defined, mostly because there are typically only four Horsemen so, altogether, Lucio's court seems to have one too many members for the trope. However, many modern interpretations of the trope replace Conquest with Pestilence. If we instead add it to the list, the Horsemen have five members. While both Vlastomil and Valdemar are strongly associated with the plague, it is Lucio's deal with Vlastomil that brings about the plague in the first place. Valdemar seeks only to study it- without caring whether they bring death in the process. That means Valdemar, with their grey-green skin and Eldritch true (demonic) form, is our Horseman of Death.

  • While this is correct, I would argue that it's not actually that hard to figure out which Horsemen Vlastomil & Valdemar as, because (a) we learn in Julian's route that Valdemar has slowly been sapping Death of their energy and taking it for their own, and (b) we see in 'Dawn of the Grub' that Vlastomil also takes the form of the Worm of Pestilence (it's in the name!)
