Let’s face it, he obviously knows more than he should for a man with a literal screw loose. Him losing his abilities wasn’t an accident, but him becoming a bit smarter. He uses gags and things that screw people over as a way to have personal gain. He meets with whoever crosses paths with him and rights their wrongs by doing the things that made them wrong in the first place. Exactly what a chaotic neutral trickster god would do.
