The New Planet Kin Builds for the Committee is the Discworld
She keeps to the concept of a flat world full of fantasy creatures so as not to tip off the natives that they have been relocated to a new planet. Of course, Kin takes the opportunity to make a few upgrades so that things run smoother, and since no one had ever seen the bottom of the disc anyway, it's no big thing to add a mechanical turtle and elephants to house the committee's intellect; this way, people can dig deep into the earth itself (and even go under it) without ever seeing the inner workings, and since that is no longer a danger, they are permitted to advance to a slightly higher technological level. (Also, having the world travel on the back of a turtle means that it'll be easier for the committee to either find help or avoid external dangers as needed.)
