- Presumably the space drone that attacked the Enterprise while equipped with a powerful energy weapon, an invisibility cloak, and attacked using a random or otherwise hard to pin down pattern, gained those features after prior drones failed to destroy the USS Drake that the Enterprise was sent to find after going missing.
