Ride Like the Wind

Samnal is a Deity of Human Origin like Hyalor.

There's some evidence for this.
  • In Gods War rituals, Hyalor and Samnal are the only gods who lack swirling patterns on their clothes/skin.
  • We know (from Hyalor himself) that the children of gods aren't necessarily gods themselves. And while Cenala, daughter of two gods, has swirls, Hyalor—son of a god and a human woman—does not. Samnal could have been born to Elmal and a Nivoran woman.
The Wheels may not remember this—or they may think that Samnal is a special case because his father is Elmal. (After all, neither they nor the Riders know of Hyalor's divine heritage, to begin with...)

Osara's devotees dye their hair.

They can't ALL be natural redheads, the genetics would be improbable.

Lights Going Out

There will be a story chain focused on the Antler Society.

You never do find out what's really going on with these guys, although there are hints that they're both extremely powerful and potentially rather shady. Additionally, there's the antler monster from one of the endgame rituals of Ride Like the Wind... Also, the later Gloranthan legends of King Heort say both that his father was known as Darndrev the Horned and had antlers on his head, and that both Darndrev and his wife, the warrior Red Drenyan, were killed by the terrible monster Mogjorbor, which could grow any kind of antlers on its head.

Heort will feature in the game.

It's set in the Great Darkness, and Good King Heort is the most prominent Orlanthi hero of that time.

Darndrev the Horned was in fact an Omaseg

The Omaseg worship deer spirits, herd reindeer, and travel in a cloud of constant snow (winter). Darndrev the Horned came of the Winter Deer People, who were said to be deer shapeshifters. Darndrev had antlers on his head (something the Omaseg strongly disapprove of, saying it leads one to become evil), which could explain why he left them to marry into his wife's clan, even though she was quite poor at the time and would normally have joined her husband's clan.

Your clan will adopt new cults as their gods die.

For example, should Dostal die your clan might adopt Odayla (the Orlanthi god of hunting, who is one of the few gods to survive the Great Darkness).

Redalda will come to be worshipped as a goddess.

In later Gloratha, the goddess Redalda is Elmal's wife, and her cult is the only way women can access his magic. She's also the Orlanthi goddess of horses. So her cult could come to absorb those of Gamari and/or Osara...

There will be new storyline advisors/heroes,

Including a shaman and a Humakti.
  • A shaman: the shaman in this illustration also appears as an advisor here, which implies pretty strongly that she'll be such a character.
  • A Humakti: The woman cleaning her sword in the inked art here, possibly named Kerenna as that's the name of the image file, with all her Death runes, looks like a Humakti. She also bears a resemblance (sans the tattoo, which looks like it wasn't added at the lineart stage) to the Humakti advisor here.
  • The two of them look a bit alike—sisters, maybe?
  • There's also a chance of established Glorantha characters appearing as heroes—King Heort, his parents Darndrev and Drenyan, or his wife Ivarne, perhaps.

Later Games

The Six Ages of the title are...

  • The Storm Age: Confirmed; Ride Like the Wind is set in this period.
  • The Great Darkness: The tagline for Lights Going Out is "Can you survive when the world is broken and the gods are dead?" which is a very good description of this time period. The Chaos rune is also more appropriate for this age than any other.
  • The Gray Age: While the title and fire rune imply the Dawn Age, the tagline for the third game, The World Reborn, is "Rebuild a shattered land, and bring a glorious new dawn to the world." Which implies that the game ends with the Dawn, rather than starting there... And as Elmali-descended Orlanthi, the player clan would be uniquely qualified to help restore Yelm to hie proper place.
  • The First Age/The Dawn Age
  • The Second Age/The Imperial Age
  • The Third Age

In either the third or fourth game, you'll be able to wake gods. If you believed in Cenala, she'll be an option.

In clan creation for King of Dragon Pass and the tabletop RPGs, you pick which god your ancestors helped awaken. Now you'll get to play those ancestors. And having Cenala as an option—perhaps a minor goddess that you can only worship in later games if you do this—would be really fun.
