* So, something that didn't make sense is that the games imply that the Tunguska Meteor was manually sent by the original Chimeran race in an attempt to recolonize Earth, and once Earth has been terraformed, they will come through the New York wormhole, but the wormhole shows that the Chimeran homeworld is a complete wreck unable to sustain life, and not one Pure Chimera actually travels through to Earth. In my opinion, it's much more likely that the Chimeran race is long-extinct, and the Tunguska Meteor was actually a leftover probe that was operating autonomously. Here's the scenario: when the original Chimera retreated from Earth, they left behind a hidden "trump card" that would let them reclaim Earth in the distant future: an automatic probe disguised as an asteroid, containing both the Chimeran virus and an autonomous artificial intelligence. The artificial intelligence would monitor Earth for signs of advanced civilization with a presumably high population density - say, a sudden spike in atmospheric CO2 levels, which by 1908 were already 25 ppm higher than pre-Industrial Revolution Earth, and would execute a preprogrammed command to activate the probe's maneuvering thrusters and crash into an appropriate site on Earth, thus overtaking the inhabitants of Earth and allowing the Pure Chimera to return. This makes the story of the games even more tragic because the Chimera we see truly are the last of their kind, as the Pure Chimera they are supposedly fighting for are long-dead.

* Originally the Chimera were the dominant race in their cycle, 65 million years ago, and Earth was one of their colonies. However, their alien mindset caused them to develop technologies such as energy weapons and wormhole generators that diverged highly from the [[TechnologyLevels strict path of technological development]] the Reapers enforce, making them a threat to the cycle. The Reapers attacked the Chimera in an attempt to end their threat to the cycle, destroying their civilization. Earth was one of the planets attacked by the Reapers, and the Reapers are the true cause of the Cretaceous extinction. However, a few pockets of Chimera survived in stasis, and eventually woke up 65 million years later, finding that their civilization had been completely destroyed. As a last ditch attempt at reviving their civilization, the Chimera launched a modified form of a terraforming agent, tailored to the genetic code of humans and related lifeforms, to Earth, which would produce an army of hybrid servants that would reopen the ancient Chimera wormhole to Earth, allowing the Pure Chimera to come through and turn Earth into the capital of their new empire. In this scenario, the "Gray Tech" in Resistance is actually Reaper technology, and the reason why the Cloven worship it is due to indoctrination. The Cloven are hostile to both humans and Chimera because they have become puppets of the Reapers.

Added theory that the Gray Tech aliens are the Reapers from Mass Effect

Black Mesa and Aperture both recovered the Chimeran teleportation technology after [[spoiler: Capelli destroyed the tower that the Chimera were using to open a portal to their homeworld in 1957.]] The Black Mesa facility itself (being built in TheFifties) was initially built to research and resist the Chimera, but shifted focus after the war ended.

** It may depend on the difficulty the player finished the game on. Hale could probably survive a headshot on easy. Then again, considering the abrupt cut-to-black, Capelli probably realized this and finished him off.

** That doesn't seem too likely. The world of ''Prototype'' is not the same as ''Resistance'', but simply our world in the [[NextSundayAD the not-too-distant future]].

* Well, BoomHeadshot is a prominent gameplay mechanic, and if ordinary Chimera {{Mooks]] can't heal from a bullet to the head, then Hale probably couldn't either.

Well, the war ended when the Chimera accomplished their mission at the crater in New Mexico, coinciding with current theories about the extinction of the dinosaurs. The Timeline of several million years also coincides with the time period in which dinosaurs were dominant on earth. Additional visual evidence for this comes from Marauders in Resistance 2. Given the Chimeran tendency to make soldiers out of the bodies of their fallen enemies, it makes more sense that the marauder creature was created from the venerable lizards than from human bodies.

A well-done mole. The FridgeLogic of him turning on the intro music when he's surrounded by aliens and his wife has (supposedly) been [[spoiler: dragged off to a cocoon of some kind]] is jarring. Plus, his voice is just...''too'' perfect. It's ''too'' into it. Therefore, I purport that he is, in fact, a mole of some kind for the Chimera.

Well, he has a healing factor, and Capelli shot him in the head. In other words, he didn't die at all.
