The whole plot is a case of Writer Revolt from the kidnapped movie makers
- Basically; Pulgasari is implicitly The Kims. What passes for Pro-Kim propaganda is really a stealth Anti-Kim protest....and the Kims didn't figure it out due to being narcissistic ninnies.
- The people are oppressed, one of their own rescues them from big-shots, only to turn on them and eat all their stuff. Likewise; North Korea is messed with by outside Imperialist forces, there's a big, Communist Revolution led by Kim Il Sung, then the Kim's turn out to be horrible dictators themselves who hog all the food, wealth, etc. The Director may have been secretly telling the Kims to screw themselves and the North Korean people to rebel.
