Shimmering Sky
- We found this crystal pony in a temple where nothing made sense - and she's not an exception to that rule.
- Shimmering Sky was 'rescued' from some sort of ritual sacrifice. I hesitantly use the word 'rescue' as, in hindsight, it occurs to me that the ones performing the ritual did not seem to be harming her in any way.
- If they were the sacrifice all along, then this does not bode well.
- It also bears mentioning that rescuing her is what caused Armstrong to leave...
- Shimmer is obsessed with Shining Dawn, as it would seem, and seems to do everything in her power to protect him. It also strikes me as odd that she immediately singled him out as a mentor figure ("Senpai!") of sorts when she has no memory past that of her name - does she, subconsciously, know something about him that we don't?
- Haven’t seen under cloak, haven’t seen cutie mark.
- Shimmer's mane covers her cutie mark entirely, and if that weren't enough she has a cloak that does the same thing. Something that's hidden that consistently, for that long, can only mean that it's more important than we know.
- My current headcanons point to a sun-related cutie mark of some sort, as she is a cohort of Shining Dawn and happens to speak Celestial. Also there's the light thing, which is elaborated upon in a later paragraph.
- Dare I say that I half expect it to resemble that of Celestia herself...?
- Maybe. I agree that she resembles an incredibly powerful ruler from the past, not Celestia, though. My money’s on Princess Cadance.
- Young Celestia has been depicted to have the same color scheme (or a similar one) to the one that Shimmer currently has. Also Shimmer was recently depicted with gold-colored magic, which was NOT corrected by Word of God (though the implications of this are not completely certain, a non-answer is not always a confirmation after all).
- Though Cadance being linked to the Crystal Empire DOES make it entirely possible for Shimmer to be related in some way… plus she’s pink, too. So that’s a thing.
- The light thing, too.
- When wounded or otherwise extremely frantic (example; Shimmer feeling the extreme need to immediately heal a wounded Shining Dawn), Shimmering Sky emits a bright light that can literally be felt by others. She appears to hold more power than she lets on, able to actually over-heal the aforementioned character without seeming to have put much, if any, strain on herself while doing so. On some level I’m not certain she’s aware that she does this, but that means it’s all the more reason to not dismiss it as anything even relatively normal.
- She naturally speaks Celestial, so that’s a thing.
- Also the whole getting water and bread from the house above the clouds thing…
- Plus the fact that she was displayed on a pedestal in a temple of Discord which had a room designed almost exclusively (probably) to channel moon energy into Dusk.
- Almost like how Dawn was found displayed in a ritualistic sacrifice-style manner before Dusk in our latest cliffhanger.
- ...I swear if I wake him up and the first thing he says is “Senpai!”, I am so done!

- Not where I was going with that, but...
- Other notes: It’s been hinted at that very bad things will happen involving her if Dawn is to die. Will something powerful be released?
- Exactly HOW angry will it be...? Survival chance, intuitively, feels low.
- If my figuring is correct, imagine “Enraged Alicorn with the emotional stability of a young child who posses extremely powerful magic”
- Where is she now?
- Last we checked, Shimmer and Rose had been kidnapped by the Anti-Party. Presumably the kids are still in their custody, and if we currently have one Shrouded Dusk…
- They may be able to use the fact that Shining Dawn is currently on their side to their advantage. Cohort-stealing intensifies, and let’s hope they don’t know more about her than we do. That’s a lot of potential for a very dangerous situation.
- Come to think of it, if Shining Dawn is really how he currently appears to be, what with the sacrificial business… if he’s killed, do they know what might happen with Shimmer?
- Perhaps they DO know and that’s why they’re doing it.
- ...There is awful lot of talk about killing Shining Dawn...
