Alright, here is my theory on what Poppy is about....I believe that Poppy is a Lovecraftian horror existing from before the beginning of time. Poppy takes the form of a human, but fails at maintaining the illusion through her videos. That is why you hear the surrealistic music playing in the background and it also explains Poppy's mannerisms.

Poppy herself exists as a single conscious that creates several clones of herself that she could pass her consciousness onto once her original body starts to decay over time. Throughout thousands of unspeakable years, Poppy had been manipulating humanity since the Stone Age. When technology began to come upon the horizon, Poppy adapted with time. She then created a cult around herself led by Titanic Sinclair; her music is meant to brainwash you into becoming one of her many mindless slaves who would cater to her whim, worshiping her as a god. YouTube is just the most recent form Poppy had taken throughout her endless existence.

With her unfathomable form existing in another plane of existence, Poppy manipulates her audience in order to gather enough power to invade our reality. Once here, she will absorb everything into herself, causing the massive extinction of all life. Soon, we will all be Poppy.

Charlotte is a metaphor for Mars Argo
This would make a great deal of sense, especially as Moriah's shown she can be pretty passive aggressive in her take thats. Her copying Poppy could be seen as an allegory for Mars Argo feeling that Sinclair and Poppy are copying her style hence the lawsuit claim.

Poppy is Illuminati

Charlotte was the Original Poppy
In the YouTube Red series I'm Poppy, Charlotte makes a comment about how it's probably wonderful to not be made out of plastic. This could indicate that at some point, Charlotte was perhaps the original Poppy, or better yet, someone who was once immensely famous, at least until certain circumstances made her resort to taking constant plastic surgery onto her. Eventually, the effects become irreversible, and left her with some immense pain. This could explain why she takes medicine to "feel better." It serves as a reminder of the excruciating pain that she suffers from thanks to the repeated surgeries.

Poppy's AI is the result of Brain Uploading
For years, the Illuminati has attempted to create the perfect teen idol in order to brainwash the populace. Despite their continued attempts to recruit pop stars from all around the world, those idols being flawed human beings would crack under the pressure of fame. Disposing of their latest failure (as seen in the Youtube red special) the Illuminati has decided that the woman they need is not born... but made. Using data from market tests, the Illuminati science department has developed a line of androids to act as the next pop idol.

To develop the next pop star, they scouted out a promising artist Moriah Pereira from Youtube and promised her a record deal. After recording her EP, the illuminati promptly harvested her mind and soul and put it into a super computer. Charlotte was created as a by product of the experiment, being a fractured piece of the original Poppy. The promotional videos are set in the center of the mind where poppy's consciousness is stored and tested. Her mind is backed up thousands of times and edited to be as submissive and pliable as possible by Them.

The Albums Present a timeline

1. Bubblebath is the story of a young girl who tries to make it big in the music industry. She signs her soul over to the illuminati before eventually rebelling in lowlife. This is the last we see of a human poppy, as the illuminati harvest her for memories to make their AI.

2. Poppy.computer: is the tale of a poppy iteration who is perfectly obedient to the illuminati and spreading the cult. Poppy also finds love in the form of computer boy, only to be heartbroken later on.

3. Am I A Girl?: Poppy (or at least Poppy#336) has regained her self awareness and has a major identity crisis.

"Am I A Girl?" is about the apocalypse
