InvestiGators takes place in the same city as Hippopotamister and Kitten Construction Company.
All 3 book series have the trope of Lions and Tigers and Humans... Oh, My! and even make minor references from each other such as character cameos and references. So it doesn't seem that outlandish to assume they are all connected in some way. Mango will get some sort of backstory as the series progresses.
We don't get a lot of info behind him besides the fact he used to be a Junior Agent alongside Cilantro. So maybe we'll get to know more about what he did before becoming Brash's partner. Mango is partially deaf.
Throughout the series he's often mishearing words, in Heist and Seek he's wearing glasses with his disguise and mentions that he "can't hear" with them on, suggesting he might be lipreading others.- This theory can be somewhat debunked as in an earlier page he mentions they aren't prescription glasses.
Brash has PTSD and experienced dissociative amnesia.
He shows signs of PTSD throughout the series, as his character revolves around overcoming the guilt he feels with losing his partner, Daryl. He also can't hear anything related to dough or baked goods without freezing, even age regressing in one of the books. As for the dissociative amnesia, after he's fallen into a coma, he's explicitly mentioned to have had his mind block out any memories of Daryl and his radioactive forms and can't access them, mainly because he was trying to protect himself. Braver and Boulder will be Crackerdile's last major appearance as a villian.
