Voldemort's newest host is NOT Cornelius Fudge
Think about it, Harry and friends breaking into the ministry is supposed to be the Department of Mysteries equivalent, and the messages Harry's getting are clearly his visions from canon. At the end of ch 45, we learn
it was a trap to lure in Harry, therefore, we shouldn't take the news about
Fudge being Voldemort at face value. My guesses off the top of my head are:
- McGonagall: she has gotten a fair bit of focus, so it's possibly leading to reveal she's the new host.
- Scridgemor, still high ranking in the Ministry, and makes sense of how the Aurors are failing their jobs, aside from general incompetence.
- What if the host was Jack? If not, the end of Chapter 50 seems to show that he's Not Himself.
- It's not any of them. Turns out, Dumbledoor is the new Host of Voldemort.
