Sofia was the little girl in the flashback to Icepick Joe's teenage years.
Saw someone posit this theory on Tumblr and liked it. Let's review the evidence:- It's hard to say exactly how far apart Sofia and Joe are in age, but the girl in the flashback looks like she's about nine or ten. This would make her six to eight years younger, which is plausible for adult Sofia.
- It's hard to see in the dark, but the girl looks like she has a slight limp when she runs. We don't know how long Sofia has had her prosthetic, but given how easily she walks on it as an adult, it's probably been a long time.
- The girl has similar curly, dark hair as Sofia and seems to be a bit of a tomboy.
- Sofia mentioned being in an orphanage run by nuns; Joe meets the girl just outside a church.
- It'd be a nice parallel, with them having a brief but friendly interaction as children and then again as adults.
- Joe asking Sofia about her leg might not have him just being tactless; he might have been trying to figure out why she seemed familiar and if she was possibly the same person. Sofia, if she was the same person, would've been young enough that she may not remember the interaction, and thus doesn't recognize Joe.
