    Pre-release guesses
The Secret of the Taranis
  • Malt & Mei's grandfather knows about the war machine, and had to use the Soul Cannon to save the village long ago when he was about Malt's age, with his best friend being used as the ammo. The child of light briefly seen in the trailer is the remains of that sacrifice.
    • Jossed; there is no evidence that anyone knew about the Taranis before the kids uncover it, and the child of light is the Taranis's AI.

The Twelfth Kid
  • The mystery 12th kid shown among the roster in the final month before release is a Dead Man Walking who will be an early, scripted use of the Soul Cannon to demonstrate its power to the player without forcing them to sacrifice any of the main kids. Given his apparent doberman breed, he may be either a traitor to the Bermans or The Mole among the kids.
    • The 12th kid being a Dead Man Walking is Jossed; the Soul Cannon is indeed an early, scripted use, but he hasn't joined the party at that point. However, he IS a traitor to the Bermans.

A Call-Forward to Solatorobo: Red the Hunter will be done near the end of the game.
  • It's said somewhere that the game takes place several centuries prior to either Little Tail Bronx game before it.
    • Confirmed; the game ends with a Distant Finale showing how game's setting becomes the Shepherd Republic, Solatorobo's setting. Additionally, there's a second, potentially earlier call-forward when Socks and Malt have their final Link Event.

    Post-release and sequel guesses
The Lost God will return in subsequent games
  • We saw the Vanargand crumbling into pieces in the ending but that does not necessarily mean it is gone for good. Lares also crumbles at the end of Solatorobo's part I, but it also begins recovering almost immediately and in just a few months shows up no worse for wear, and the Vanargand is more advanced than Lares. Granted, Lares' core was hit with something weaker than the Soul Cannon, but the Vanargand's core had also survived a hit from it in the past, and seeing how the Tarascus (which contained the core at the moment) survives the hit to star in the second game, it's not out of possibility that the Vanargand's core was not in fact annihilated, leaving an opening for the Vanargand to resurrect again.
    • Confirmed; the sequel has the Vanargand return as the final boss, though the resurrection ability of the Belenos is needed to keep it stable.

The Taranis and the Tarascus will combine together for the third game
  • The Taranis is made out of nanometal, the Tarascus is likely the same. From Solatorobo we know that robots made of nanometal could merge to form singular machines, so it would make sense that tanks made out of it could do the same. So if in the first game we drove the Taranis and in the second we're driving the Tarascus, then for the third game we'll drive a new tank made out of the two merging.
    • Judging from the second game trailer it actually happens as early as the second game.
      • Confirmed for it happening in the second game, with the combined form called the Exo-Taranis.

Malt and the gang are really some normal puppies and kittens living together at the local animal shelter, and the entire game is just their collective fantasy.
  • Why, you ask? Because after losing their parents or being given up for adoption, these little critters are lonely and dream about getting them back… but always interpret anyone who comes to adopt or care for them as enemy Berman soldiers, hence why they're still around and causing trouble. Meanwhile, Blutwurst and Flam Kish are just the cynical, grumpy janitors that come along every night, and the kids are constantly unnerved by them. Shvein Hax, meanwhile, is the charismatic owner of the animal shelter, and the kids don't like him, either. Nobody knows for sure why this bunch of puppies and kittens acts so peculiar…

Blutwurst is a Bastard Bastard.
  • The reports state that his father was of a prestigious Caninu family, but his mother was of an ill-regarded Felineko lineage. It's possible that Blutwurst may have been conceived from his father having an affair with the maid or something, given the explicit lack of detail we're given.
