Elephant Games is planning to taper off many of their long running series
In 2021, EG released the 20th installment of Grim Tales and the 19th of Mystery Trackers, and as of this writing the 20th Haunted Hotel is currently in beta. I rather suspect that these series are actually ending with their 20th installments (or soon after) because the devs want to focus on some of their newer projects, like Strange Investigations. This is why the 20th GT game (Trace in Time) finally shows what an utter bastard Richard really was, even beyond what Anna already knew, and why the 19th MT game (Forgotten Voices) implies that the previous player character is stepping down and handing off the reins to the new recruits. The upcoming 20th HH game likewise has the potential to end that series, as James got engaged to his girlfriend in the 19th and the series could end with them getting married.
  • Partially confirmed, as it has been announced that the 20th Haunted Hotel is indeed the last one in the series, and takes place on James's wedding day.
  • Uncertain with regard to Grim Tales; following the release of the 21st installment Echo of the Past, Elephant confirmed on their Facebook page that the series isn't over yet. However, the 22nd installment Horizon of Wishes does wrap things up in a way that suggests this might be the final game.
    • There is a beta out for the 23rd installment of Grim Tales so the series might not be quite finished yet, though it is still unknown how much longer it will last.
    • Actually jossed for Grim Tales, if the official Facebook page is any indication. On December 9, 2022, they announced a few milestones for the company; one of the points they raised is that GT is their longest-running series. "We've released 22 games of this series in almost 10 years and we don't plan to stop!"
  • Possibly confirmed for Mystery Trackers, as Forgotten Voices was released in April 2021 and there have been no new installments as of November 2022. The series previously released at a rate of one or two new games per calendar year, so this may indeed signify the end.
  • Somewhat zig-zagged, ultimately, for both Haunted Hotel and Mystery Trackers. According to the Facebook page in 2023, Elephant is considering revamping both series and has been looking for feedback from the players regarding their thoughts on the idea.
